sad ... but Islam does not tolerate violence & people misinterpret things and take it their own way in the name of this religion.

oh well.... I know we will always be hated

I wouldn't presume to know more about your own religion, however I think Islam does tolerate violence.

If nothing else the existence of groups like Al-Quaeda and the whole concept of mujaheddin and Jihad aptly proves that.

Of course, this element is not unique to the Islamic faith (The Crusades, the IRA, Tamil Tigers etcetera), but it's incorrect to deny it and probably worse to pass it off as the work of "fanatics or separatists" for whom you claim no responsibility.

That's a lot like saying because the Branch Davidians horded guns and thought David Koresch was the second coming Christ means that all Christians horde guns and believe Koresch was actually Christ, or better yet, it's like saying that because some Mormon's practice polygamy, all Christians must tolerate it.

Every single religious tradition I can think of has some kind of eccentric fringe group, that hardly means that people whose faith is similar (read "not the same") tolerates every aspect of all variations on their faith.

So what's with all these Muslim countries killing gays? I know some of the sodomy laws were actually set up under British rule. But how much of the sodomy laws are credited towards Islam?

How many can you come up with?

:conf:

And what's wrong with people being against homosexuality, drug use, or any other lifestyle choice based on their religion?

And I think it's pretty unfair to distill all of Islam down to "Muslim countries killing gays."

I'm not going to debate here.

Everyone is entitled to opinions, so are you. You may however want to read up on extremism, which is strictly against the religion's policy.

What's wrong is when you start killing people or jailing them for life just cuz they smoked pot or kissed another dude.

Sorry, not all Muslim countries kill gays, just many of them have laws that specifically target the killing of gays. My bad. And I said Muslim countries, not Islam. Muslims in America are for the most part normal integrated Middle Class people.

I live in West Hollywood. Pot is legal here. So is gay sex. Can't say much about pot and the rest of the US. But there are no laws restricting sodomy in the US, nor are there any sodomy laws in South America (except for a few retarded islands), nor in Europe.

I must agree, some Muslim countries are governed by vegetables. Some of them have absolutely no education, and live on oil.

But I wouldn't judge the religion on the same basis. It isn't Islams fault, and Islam does not support killing or punishing people regardless.

Punishing is upto God.
