College is by far the Worst 4 years of my life (pg. 5)

college was great. body handled alcohol and STDs so well back in those days.

anyone who doesn't think that is likely socially retarded (read: loser) and shouldn't think that life gets better afterwards. people will dislike you no matter if you're in college or not.

grow facial hair to cover up that ugly face of yours. go get drunk. and and ugly hippie chick in her hairy little ass. that's my advice

No, Tricia. I meant, are you going to the party at pants?

First 4 years of university were really, really, really . The worst years in my life too.

And yes it was mostly due to my social ineptitude. I didn't adapt well at all to the place, and it all went downhill from there. It started with the first year when I decided to go home the big partying week, instead of going out, because I was too stressed out from studying and just needed to relax. Never got into partying from there onwards, mostly because all the folks from my class didn't like going out neither. I got depressed, fat, social anxiety got worse and worse and I ended up being one of the biggest nerds in a class of nerds.

Things got WAY better since then. Had 1,5 years without many classes so I stopped going to uni so much, doing most of my stuff at home, and started hanging out/partying with my old high-school mates (who were all now at uni). Did a complete personal image revolution: lost weight, dropped the glasses, new haircut, new clothes, etc. This allowed to have a bit more confidence in myself.

However I'm still not a balanced guy: by focusing on the fun, work became a 2nd priority. I got my final project for my masters degree badly delayed and it still isn't finished after almost 1 year. Internet addiction is still a problem (yes, this forum is a part of it). It's because of this that I really admire people who manage to have fun and have a successful career at the same time - I just can't seem to ever pull off both at the same time.

Whatever. At least I don't feel like a loser when socializing anymore, and even if it's on hold, I still only need to pull the motivation to finish that ing project to get a masters degree at the age of 22. I think that's not too bad.

And btw, this thread reminds me of why TA is becoming so bloody annoying. I know half of you people are harsh just to be funny, but if I believed what Denis Envy wrote up there, for example, I'd still be a mega-nerd or had killed myself at some point.

90% of the people here seem to believe they are perfect and will brutally criticise people over anything.

I like college. I only dislike that school and work are consuming the majority of my time these days, and are leaving me hardly any time for myself. I guess that's mostly due to the fact that I'm taking prereqs for Engineering and that I'm trying to maintain a 4.0 so that my transfer to GA Tech will be all but assured. And it's probably a bit my fault as well, since I'm OCD and an overachiever.

I don't mind working hard, I'd just like to balance things out a bit more.

the only mistake i've made in college that i regret was being in a relationship freshman year. but she was there and hot - i was in a new place. the steady was the clincher.

so it wasn't that bad after all. but could've had way more fun without it in the way. damn these morals.

College is much more than simply being part of the cool kids, please wake up. There are kids in India who would love to be in your place and probably have to work deadly shifts with lousy pay in order to afford an inflated tuition at some local state school, just to hang around with a bunch of complacent liberal arts fags.

"wake up bitch! these poor Indians!"

I don't think liberal arts is a bad thing I just don't relate with losers.

Going to University is ing amazing.
You choose what you love to do and pursue it.

I am doing my third degree and I can't get enough.
Frosh kids get confused though... you HAVE to let yourself get caught up in the partying bit or you will never learn those mistakes of horrid procrastination and it will bite you in the ass in your late 20's when it's not going to be ok anymore.

I'm staying on campus this year and my whole dorm floor is all 17-19 year old first year girls. The Don came around announcing a dorm meeting and left little bags at everyone's door saying it contains the necessities for first year at university: candy and condoms.

At first I thought she just left it at my door because my bf and i had loud sex in my dorm the one night before everyone had moved in.

Anyway... picture yourself out of university.
WTF would you be doing?

Some part-time meaningless job about which you don't give a flying ? Hanging out on the street wearing baggy pants and picking your nose? Following the ghey trend to go abroad and teach english b/c you don't know WTF you're doing with your life?

Uni is amazing. You just have to find what you love in it and drive that hard.

Wrong. so wrong. I had an impressive job right out of school with a great pay... Not everyone is lost after they are done. I don't know where you got this nonsense from:wtf:
