So does every nation on earth:rolleyes:
But really Russians are the only people who believe they are the center of the world. At least with Americans there is some humbleness and that is saying a lot. |

it does, but that doesn't make the russian language relevant. |

And funny that you mentioned NATO members, who basically are a bunch of wussies under the control of the US. |
Somewhat incorrect.
Most NATO members are to worried about making commitments or getting their hands dirty, leaving the US to lead...(yet again). |

no - while attaining my 3 university degrees I didn't have the opportunity to learn a language no one outside of eastern europe gives a about. I chose to focus my learning on relevant material. |
That was totally uncalled for. And besides, you're wrong. They teach Russian language and studies in city's university, so that alone disproves your point. |

I was born Russian and I can tell you that most Russians I knew are not like that. You simply got that impression by watching too much of Russophobic media. Some Russians can be proud and patriotic at times, but that doesnt make them what you guys are implying. |

Brooklyn college offers courses in creole, hebrew, and latin....so are they relevant languages on a global scale? interesting, perhaps.....relevant, not so much.
measuring relevancy by a college catologue is stupid. |

Might not be relevant to you, but more relevant to other people. After all, not everyone (not even close) speaks English.
I dont understand what the point of your discussion is. If you feel like mocking other cultures and languages, this is not the place to do it. Its disrespectful and ignorant. |

I don't understand what's up with Venezuela ? They kicked US off their oil field (2nd supplier of oil of the US...) and US is not happy #simple explanation hu :D ) ? . So they decided to say that Venezuela is a bad country. Indeed Venezuela will look for allies ! What's the big deal ?
Actually Chavez (as much as he, monopolizes medias in his country) has done better for his country than the previous US backed presidents. People are getting more educated and healthcare is going better. There is still lots of criminality but at least money is a little bit more redistributed to the population... This is a great job they are doing creating the Bank of South, trying to unit south American countries. Of course it doesn't please US to see their previous "garden" cultivated by other or worse, being cultivated by itself ! (times of phoenix operation are far away!)
When you see that in 2002 the private medias (where does the money come from... hum...) already claim the fall of the President Chavez celebrating it whereas there "coup" failed (the poeple supported Chavez and put him back on track) you can wonder about lot of things... Especially knowing that those media didn't show the thousand of people demonstrating for Chavez, showing only the opposition demonstration (largely under numbered by the pro government demonstrations) saying "the people of Venezuela is not for Chavez..." |

hopefully the US is flooding georgia with stinger missiles and LAWs
the US navy is so much stronger than everyone else's for the near term so it doesn't really matter. even if the socialist countries of the world banded together there would still be NATO member countries navies too which are all hi-tek |
What's your measure of strenght?
Air craft carriers - check
Advanced subs - check
Number of subs - nope
Tactics - remains to be seen
Anti-ship missiles - nope
Ice navigation - big no
If everyone knows the navy is strong then everyone knows that punching holes in it is a priority ... or simply engaging the US millitary in another manner. |
