How are the HD25's for djing and studio purposes...? I already have the Sony MDRV1000's. |

I have HD25's.
They're somewhat accurate but take time to get used to. It's very hard to get the right balance in dynamics on those headphones though. |

Have my hd 5 yrs now. Don't know and don't want another :).
I'd just recommend to get monitor speakers honestly (way better than headphones :)), if possible. |

Neither of these are good suggestions.
They are both closed headphones. The HD25s and Sonys are both for DJing (high isolation). The closed back on these headphones results in high resonance, particularly in bass frequencies. This is far from ideal for producing.
If you want to get a good set of headphones for producing, you really need open/semi open. AKG 240 (discontinued) or 240 MKII are pretty much the "standard" in headphones. The AKG 701 are the next step up. Beyer Dynamic make some good ones too. |

If you need closed back I can recommend DT 770 Pro. They have a really strong almost exaggerated low end which is good for tracking and some late night casual EDM mixing. AKG 271 is good at mid range and has very good stereo imaging, although they lack low end compared to DT 770 Pro, 271s are more honest overall. |

I'd go with the AKG 240 Studio. Damn good headphones and extremely popular and good value for money. |
