I was about to suggest this myself. You'll get a floor moving with popular disco tracks.

Popular Rock songs from the '70's & '80's (possibly '90's).

Deep house will be acceptable in very small margins possibly. Try to keep the tracks as organic as possible, as to not have some drunk ass-hole come up to the booth saying "Oh Gawd! Not Techno!".

Great suggestion, thanks!

Exactly what I have in mind. Stuff that Joe Schmoe wouldn't recognize as "that techno stuff". Stuff that's loungey and organic, but isn't lacking in dancability either, should anyone choose to do so.

I'll truly be putting my "read the crowd" skills to the test for this one. :stongue:

So 8 shows all in 5 days time now going be fun. Plus there 2 more that may switch over soon for 10. All at a mall and all in my home town. So now busy with Winter/Fall, Spring, and Summer fashion shows along with 2 formal fashion shows I just found about today to. 1 winter formal fashion show and spring formal fashion show for prom in May.

Dillard's (new)
JCPenny (orginal)
Herberger's (orginal)
Eddie Bauer (new)
Gap (new)
Abercrombie & Fitch (new)
Christopher & Banks (new)
Victoria's Secret (new)

Coldwater Creek (possible)
Buckle (possible)

What a list so it mean 5 day vacation from my normal job and all to do this.

Looks like my mobile business just took off like rocket in ways.

If it's an older crowd, don't even bother with chill-out/ambient during dinner. I'd put on a "Best of" Dave Brubeck or David Sanborne CD and let people eat.

During "party" time, definitely stick to the biggest disco tracks as well as kitchy 80's (Love Shack, Walk Like an Egyptian, etc).

In fact, you might just want to go to iTunes and download the tracks in their 70's, 80's and 90's Party "Essentials" and just play those.

I'm a big proponent of keeping a strong mental wall between "event" DJ's (wedding, prom, corporate events) and club DJ's. The latter is about art and self-expression and the former can only be concerned with service.
