So, my parents will let me spend 300 dollars on DJ hardware. I'm really just looking for two cd players (cdjs) and a cheap mixer. What would you guys suggest?
Also, I know you guys say that its not a good idea to go cheap on DJ equipment. BUT, this stuff is just supposed to last me about 3 years to help me get some experience and if I enjoy it, take it more seriously. Thanks. |

Hmm... for 3 bills you're gonna be hard pressed, even if you buy used equipment. Even 1 bottom-of-the barrel numark CDj will run you around 150.
How serious are you about djing? Have you considered the dj controller + software route? |

Yes. Would that work better?
I currently own:
Reason
FL studio
Ableton
Virtual DJ
What kind of DJ controller should I get? And do I need any other software? |

Yeah, but I'm a junior in high school, so I'm more focused on other things like college and SATs, so there's not much time to work.
And, I did have a summer job, but my parents took most of my money for my college fund.
So either way, even if I worked, my budget would still be 300 dollars. |

Go get a part time job working only like 10-15 hours a week (if possible). If all your money went straight to DJ equipment. You could have a pretty nice kit in just a couple months.
I don't suggest using 300 towards DJ equipment alone. Not nearly enough to get you anything that would last long enough to consider whether you'd like DJ'ing or not. |

i have 2 numark tt500's for sale (in flight cases) for 300 bucks. you could take the tt500's and resell the flight cases for 200 on ebay and you just got a pair of tt's for 100 bucks! buy the virtual dj vinyl and a numark dxm06 mixer for 200 bucks and bam you're ready to go. |

i was working a grocery store that time. there is always time man, seriously, you just gotta learn to fit it in. grocery store, bagging (no easier job than this), 2-4 hours a day, 6 MAX if it's on a holiday or weekend. i'd love to go back to those days, now that i think about it, i had all the time in the world those days, and SATs are a piece of cake, the whole "you need to study 192058901825 hours or you won't pass!" is just a crock of . the entire english section is a joke.
you know all the times teachers tell you "college is 10x worse than high-school!", well don't buy it. i went to school with this total moron, okay, he his way through with D's and a few F's and managed to get into UMass Boston like cake
are you planning on attending Harvard or some other prestigious school? |

I don't know. I'm planning on attending a decent school. I have a 2200 on my PSAT, but I'll probably do worse on the real thing.
And thanks for all the suggestions!
Is this thing any good?
