i mean, don't get me wrong, it's tragic but it's gotten ridiculous. 9/11 this, 9/11 that |
What's ridiculous is that no one gives a about WHY it was militant Islamic fundamentalists thought it would be a great idea to fly planes into buildings, killing thousands.
All anyone cares about is using "9/11" to support their own agendas - whether it's politics or business (I fault the media as much as any politician for banging the "9/11" drum nonstop the past 7 years).
So instead of taking a look at what's wrong here, we've projected our ty values onto the rest of the world, begun a pointless war (incidentally killing thousands more innocent people), and sank our economy even further in the ter in what I can only assume was an attempt to create such a pitiful state of affairs here that no one would even bother attacking us.
Motherfuckers. |

That has nothing to do with Iraq. |

Getting rid of Saddam wasn't "pointless," either.
It's just that we could have gone about it in a much better way, and the original justification for it (going after WMDs) turned out to be entirely baseless. |

That and preemptive war has set one the most terrible precedents the civilised world could have asked for in the new millennium. |
