Thanks, guys.

Friday nght was really bad, even up here (I live in The Woodlands). I boarded up all the windows with particle board, & it even ripped two of those off. My neighbor across the street has 3 giant pine trees down in his backyard (one from his yard, one from his nextdoor neighbor's, and one from the house two doors down & one over...it just got uprooted & flew).

My house is fine, water pressure's come back close to normal, but still no power. They're estimating 2-4 weeks before it's back. Still over 2,000,000 people without power. Dowtown is just covered in glass from the buildings, the coastal cities are basically part of the gulf now, and there's flooding throughout, because we got another big storm saturday night. A lot of the South & Eastern parts of the area still don't have water at all.

There are dusk to dawn curfews in effect, but you'd have to be a moran to try to drive at night. There are trees & power lines down EVERYWHERE, and no traffic lights. There are also alligators, fish, and boats on the highways near the city...yes, boats.

Grocery stores are starting to open, and it's kinda scary. Even up here, there's no bread, no produce, no ice, and almost no canned goods at most places. All of them have 30-60 minute lines to get in. I happened to get to a Kroger that had just opened, so I stocked up like mad, but I'm sure that's the exception.

Wow, When it comes to hurricanes there's not much one can do but run (or swim)

jk hope everything is well with yourself and your significant others. health > materials godspeed ;)

Pics that my mom took on Sunday. My brother is without power but thankfully my mother isnt. Most of my friends don't have power and they are telling me about the running water being brown. It really breaks my heart to hear about all of the destruction Ike caused to my hometown.

yea that's pretty much what south florida was like with katrina...or actually it might have been wilma....i always confuse those two. it was the one that hit in october and we had a cold front move in right after it hit which kinda helped w/ the no AC thing. it was actually cold and i was sleeping with sweat pants cuz it was like 50 after and i had to take cold showers which sucked.

anyway, i was without power for 2 weeks. and that got old really fast lol.

glad to see u made it:)

ing Ike, we got 75mph gusts and 50mph sustained winds from the leftovers of the storm up here in southwest Ohio on Sunday. Knocked out power for 1.5 million here, 500K still without it. That kind of never happens up here. Obviously nothing like what you guys got down there but I feel for you. Glad to hear everyone is accounted for though.

The same thing we all did, really. Just more close to modern times.
