its quite common to mark up on alcohol in restaurants, my ex used to make 300% profit on each meal, so imagine how much they make on alcohol :p
quite common for a bottle of wine to be $35+ in a restaurant and you can buy it for about $15-20 on the outside. Thats why its good to bring your own wine with you, but you just have to check how much corkage is, coz they can rape you with that aswell. |

nice dry white, like a pinot gris, is amazing
for reds i like a nice cabarnet savignon
def prefer dryer wines
was just out at some awesome vineyards in osoyoos bc, favorite was hester creek, but its very hard to find

despite living the majority of my life in the U.S., i've been wine tasting all over europe, but haven't even been to napa/sonoma. :wtf: |

oh and pinot grigio isn't a "dry white". that's like chardonnay which i hate. pinto grigio and sauvignon blanc are more fruity and crisp with lots of citrus flavor.
i used to not drink any white and then was introduced to kim crawford sauvignon blanc... and damn. it's really good. on a hot day i def prefer chilled white wine as long as it's not chard. |
