Anyone here got one?

I love the look of them and wish I had one, but I've never even gotten to touch one :(

If anyone here have one, could you tell me about why you prefer/do not prefer rotary mixers?

I have an older Vestax rotary mixer. I spin a lot of techno & progressive and like to hold my mixes around 2-3 minutes and I find I have better control with my rotary. Twisting the knobs just feels smoother than running faders up and down. It's all about preference though; to each his own.

i've got a xone:92 rotary and i ing love it. since i started djing, i hated faders. they're so imprecise. knobs are a lot more precise, for me at least. and like the poster above me, i think rotary mixers are best suited for long & smooth mixes, which is the way i like to mix.

I just bought myself a Xone 92 linear fader version.

To be honest, I like faders.. I like chopping in and out sometimes and having a mixer with pots instead of faders just isn't as fun when it comes to chopping it in and out.

I can completely see where the lads above are coming from though in regards to long smooth transitions.

My only gripe is that the Xone's faders (linear ones) are WAY too loose.

You barely tap them and you could significantly drop the volume by accident.

But other then that I'm loving it at the moment.

I pine for someone to make a rotary and linear hybrid, so that you can choose between the two, depending on whether you want to cut or just be smoooooooth......

many rotary mixers have a crossfader you know. if i need to cut, i can use the crossfader. no problems there.

Cutting is no fun with a cross fader. Faders all the time.

Cutting is all about 2 faders.

the denon dn-x5/900 were a 19" rackmount mixer with the option of having faders or rotaries. had that previously and just had 2 rotaries and 2 faders...it was a nice mix

epdarks
big pants,

you got a pic of that?

this picture is of the one i sold to a guy over at the torq forums. denon's matrix channel thing-a-ma-bober made it perfect since you wouldnt need to unplug and replug tables if you wanted to use the rotaries
