How do you think they do it? How do they keep their crates updated with all that hectic touring???
I've heard Paul van Dyk goes to this record store somewhere in England where they know what he wants, so as soon as he enters the store they give him tons of new records to skim through. Then he says it only takes him a while to decide whether a tune is good enough or not.
It's kinda amazing how they spin new choons even when they've been on the road for a couple of months.
Any ideas how they get their vinyl? |

| i'm sure most of the big dj's are sent promo's of all the new stuff and they spin it if they like it. |

| I get a fat stack of prog and trance when I enter the store I shop at. It's a normal thing is you go weekly and talk to the guys doing the pickups. A friend at the record store will grab you the best stuff before it's al gone. |

| AvB once said that he gets about 40 promos a week, and from those selects which ones he will play. But he also goes vinyl shopping of course. |

Here's a quote from the cd jacket of Paul Oakenfold Cream disks:
"Paul Oakenfold received up to 120 white labels a week, he listens to them all, but will only include 1-5 of them in his final set"
Pretty damn amazing! I wonder what he does will all of his vinyl?
Ya figure at even 100 a week for 4 years is 20,800 albums. Think about how much that weighs!! |

i was reading somewhere that paul oakenfold has around 30,000 records, and about once a year or so, he will go through them and toss out about 10,000 or so |
