To be fair mate, creating a thread asking how to delete your account does seem like a way of announcing to everyone you've had enough of the forum.
As has already been said, if you dont like the forum anymore then just dont visit it. You don't need to delete your account, its not like its costing you anything. There's plenty of forums I've joined in the past and haven't visited in ages (and prob never will again). I haven't deleted the accounts though, whats the point? |
Well spoken. I've seen people do this kind of thing over and over on forums. People post a message that they are leaving for good, and usually always end up coming back. Then they get the inevitable, "see, I told you you'd be back." Rich, you're obviously upset, don't say it's nothing, you posted a public notice on a forum, dude. This forum is obviously important to you. Threatening to leave and cancel the account accomplishes nothing. What's the point? Unless you happen to be directing this toward the Mods here, as a public protest, because you think they are letting the arguing and nastiness get out of hand. Otherwise, you're just airing your sour grapes here, and fishing for some sympathy. By posting publicly, you are definately seeking feedback.
OK, here's my feedback. You probably want someone to give you a reason not to cancel your account. This little drama is not worth your time. Just leave here, without canceling your account, and check back here from time to time to see what's going on. Even if you cancel your account, you can come back with your original name, unless someone else takes it while your gone. Someone probably will, just to spite you. You are one of the few names I recognize here. Maybe because you post a lot, I'm not even sure why. As far as I recall, you always have something useful to add to the discussions. You are respectful as well. Don't let the silly arguments get you down. There is an ignore feature here, use it. I use it myself, because there are a few around here that don't have anything worthwhile to say. |

Click on someone's profile, then toward the bottom right of the page you'll see "add to your ignore list". There's no way to know if someone is ignoring you. |

+1 to Zodiac9.
There are a few people on this forum who I remember coming up again and again.
I've also been on here long enough to watch it go through ups and downs, and at the moment I don't actually think it's that bad - It's definitely been worse, several times before, and has always picked up again.
Yes, there have been points when I've though what's the point - literally a thread an hour of some numbnut going "how do I sound Like Armin Van Tiestmou5?
It really turned me off too, but you know what the secret is?
Contribute something yourself! It has this strange and massive reciprocal effect. Other people get involved and contribute something as well and it becomes a snowball effect.
I'm not taking the piss. Find something on the net, in a book or by speaking to people and post it here. It really is that simple and if you want to find out about a particular subject post something you know about it and everyone else will chip in.
It's a public forum - if you don't like what's on here or if it's not grabbing your attention then you can change that very easily.
Now having said that (and I'm not alone in this) the DJ booth and production forum seriously needs some mods. I've been saying this for ages, and there are at least 4 people that I can think of right now who would do it well (you know who you are!). The quality of this forum does need some policing so stupid/pointless/repetitive threads are closed and so that the minority of idiots don't it up for everyone else.
Swamper, please stop spamming us with top DJ polls and get us some mods up inside here. |

Indeed, and sadly in the long run when i am trying to get work down i feel slowed down some of the nonsense here. However i still visit regularly because there are always a few gems to pick up here and there. |
