Isnt this the night they raise Andersons Jersey to the rafters?
Also, can I come? |

lol. I don't know enough history yet to know who that is or what he did :p The answer to the second is to get yourself a job at fort mcmurray and then take advantage :p |

Just like last year? Oh wait...the flames lost to the sharks.:p
Its easy to shoot off your mouth early, but talking about playoffs and who is going to beat who,and in what round is just being stupid. Its a long season and it hasnt even started yet. Ya never know who will catch an injury. Flames have a good team on paper but the season will tell if they can prove it. I think that goes for all the teams. |

As much as I want Washington to win their division, I have a feeling Tampa Bay's policy of signing everyone in sight plus Stamkos who will be bigger than any of the new players since Ovechkin & Crosby will win it. |
no goaltending or defence.
you do not win with pure offense.
if you can score 4 or 5 goals a game what is the point if the other team scores 7?

watch your mouth wnen you are talking about my team...hell no they won't finish 11th. that's just embarrassing
also montreal at #1 again is extremely unlikely. it has been over a decade since a team finished #1 seed in the east back-to-back PLUS the points race at the end of the reason was very close. montreal and pittsburgh flip flopped a couple times in the last two weeks of the season. also that #8 position on both ends could have gone to almost anyone! i mean carolina found out they were out the last day of the season at the end of the last game. you can only say with conviction that maybe 6 teams will finish out of the playoffs and that is it. |
i don't think my predictions will be 100% right.
carolina is injury prone, and have been since they won the cup.
i am bias to montreal yes. The thing is, they won the conference last year, and then in the off season they managed to improve their team (exponentially...it is scary...pittsburgh lost guys, we added.) by adding 3 huge veteran players to balance their youth (this team is stacked and even if players get hurt they have seasoned vetrerans ready to step in...not inexperienced youngsters). They are going for broke this year, and no result will be accepted other than a cup. It does not mean they will win, but no one in the east has 3 balanced scoring lines that can produce, coupled with excellent defence and top tier goaltending. Pittsburgh is missing this. After the top lines things start to get thin for the pens. Defence and goaltending are stretched thin, and crosby/malkin can not play 60 minutes a game;)
the avs are about to enter a rebuilding phase. The bluejackets have tons of young depth due to finishing at the bottom for so long and collecting good draft picks. I will be wrong in a few cases i think, but not in these ones. If anything i think chicago will be a dark horse contender. The amount of young top tier guys they have might really turn heads if everything comes together.
...why can't this season start now! |

| the flames will not beat san jose unless they improve their team during the season. They do not have the prospects to do this. |

The leafs will not win the cup.
I claim to be the first Torontonian to say that. |

good points and i somewhat agree. i am just weary of believing montreal will top the east again. not saying i don't want them too but in the east i sincerely believe many of the teams are of equal standing to one another. also sometimes we think some trades will equal greatness and they explode in your face (ie selanne & kariya to the avs :whip: that sucked).
as for my team, yeah they are rebuilding but i have the upmost respect for pierre lacroix because he's great at drafting players. young players but i still think finishing 11 is low but we'll see. |

the thing is our trades were not for superstars but for depth.
these guys (other than alex tanguay) are not expected to do anything other than eat up a few minutes and play a character role.
the pens don't have laraque anymore to protect sidney and malkin.
we do:p
lacroix is one of the best gm's in the league, but there is only so much he can do with mid level draft picks and no trade bait. |

hey jay,
Do you think the sharks picking up Blake, Boyle and Lukowich in place of Rivet and Carle will give them the defence that was missing last season? Im feeling good about Blake. |

he is old and can't move like he used to, but it could not hurt.
cambell is the guy for the sharks.
everything is in place for the sharks...if only they can stop being chokers. Thornton is the best player in the nhl who disapears come spring. |

Yea I know, Its just kinda fun bringing smack when nothing has happened yet.
I think Bertuzzi will fit right in with Iggy and Langkow.
Also, Im sooooo glad the piece of TanGAY is gone.
Kipper has to be on his game yet again this year or the Flames will be fighting for a playoff birth. |
