Nope. It's as complicated as you choose to make it, and whiny teenagers and drama queens like to make it really complicated. Don't bother getting involved with people who aren't emotionally mature, and your life will be much easier for it.

It's come down to the point where I really have no time to session or go clubbing because she rather me spend time with her. She's a real stay at home person who likes to watch tv, read books, etc.

Pretty much comes down to shes jealous and feels unimportant, which I think is uncalled for because I spend lots of time with her. I know it's about balancing things out, but she really has no respect for MY hobbies...

Also, like I said in my first post...you either trust someone and give them their freedom (within reason), or you don't. Doesn't matter what the hobby/interest is.

I think music production is a touchy subject with women, look at M.I.K.E.

It's not so much specifically 'music production' as it is an activity that takes away your free time - time that your gf may feel is time she could spend with you. Also, if your girl isn't into EDM then she probably thinks you listen to a bunch of random noise, lol.

There are lots of good points raised in this thread -- I've learned the problem becomes when they don't understand your passion for something or the time you dedicate to it - whether it is due to them not having their own life/friends/job/hobbies to focus on and/or because they're selfish and expect you to always be available for them without question.

I'll give you an example, trying to explain what TA is and accurately define the forums and its content is near impossible. Someone will look at the c0r and see it as a bad recipe of 1 part stupidity, 2 parts wit, and 3 parts boredom. Try to explain that Carl Cox burger thread or rawwwr fssst to someone on the outside - it's a comedy in action I assure you. I could write pages on this topic, lol.

It's all about balance and compromise: if you're with someone who can't appreciate the passion you have for something - that you do in your own time - then eventually down the line you'll have to choose between your passion and them and the person who is right for you wouldn't have you make that choice.

However, the ppl I do feel sorry for are the wives/gfs of guys who get hooked on World of Warcraft/Everquest/Second Life and play that crap to the point of losing their jobs/marriage. lol. ed up. Read this article to see what I mean.

If it wasn't music, it'd be something else. You either trust someone and can allow them their freedom to pursue things you have no interest in, or not.

I mean unless you aren't balancing your time between music and her, then it's understandable.

+1. My fiancée even lent me her car a couple of times when she didn't feel like going to a rave party (which was most of the time :p).

Mine of 7 years on and off wanted me to choose between her or the music. Seeing as I am the one that introduced her to all things EDM it hurt. Needless to say we arent together anymore...

There's so much self-righteous in this thread. You guys are so perfect, life's so easy for you. How can I be like you? (not just you, idoru)

You are one of them. There you go again. Thanks for your condescending apology, I'm now going to go think about how much of a loser I am and wish to someday possess the 10th of the great deep wisdom that you have, oh great jennypie.

Just because you have not run into trouble with your boyfriend doesn't mean everything in life is easy.
