dude the entire area is full of German descendants and this is a festive tradition. How is it a copy? The official celebration is more of an emulation of the resident's roots, but of course it is a big piss up for a lot of other people, especially the younger demographic.

so I went to Concordia club tonight for 'festing' as we KW habitants call it.
just went to the tent (there is 3 places you can go to at concordia club, but need separate admission IIRC).
if you like BEER, polka, random polka dancing, you'll have fun.
I love cultural events and never been to random festing before, so it was fun. Going with a lot of friends made it better.
It's almost like a carnival with some games and stuff you can win prizes and stuff. Some food stands so you don't go hungry
So it's a drunkfest mostly. Even though it's a Wed, enough uni student showed up so enough eye candies all around. Lots of older crowd though. Didn't get drunk enough to try my hand at polka dancing. No cute chicks nearly willing either. Oh well.
Still had fun.

Dude I saw you like 3 or 4 times over the course of the night, and called you but you didn't pick up your phone. I'm so hungover today, that it took me 15 minutes to make the bed.
It was my first time at Concordia, and it was definitely the better one of all the fest halls.
I was surprised at how many people were there on a Wednesday. |
