I agree, and have thought about this too. And absolutely no offense intended, but this is the sort of mentality I don't want to adopt. I guess I have already have if I agreed, huh? :clown: I'm just confused.
I don't want to become one of those types that watches someone pop a frozen Swanson's chicken into the microwave and then curse their existence or feel the need to picket squat in the kitchen. Maybe that's why vegetarians always hang in groups? That's even more odd.
I want to do my thing, and be accepting of others who do theirs (including the profitized slaughterhouses), that's all. |
That's like being scared of being a hardcore Christian simply because you sometimes pray for someone else's health ;)
Never mind those nutters, what people eat is none of their business. |

| I'm just about as liberal and hippy as they get, and I don't support the decision to go completely veggie. We need meat! It's good for us in small doses. Lean meats like chicken, fish, and turkey are incredibly beneficial. I've cut way back, too. I eat meat once or twice a week (mostly because I'm not satisfied with the way we raise our food in this country) but I will never go totally veggie. |

Vegetables are what food eats :)
Jokes aside, I'm eating less meat now too. I still enjoy it, but in smaller, lighter portions. |

Well, if you ever need a counter-example, here I am.
I'm a strict vegetarian (not vegan, however), and I even cook hamburgers to my friends when they drop by to visit me. I guess that sums it up :D |

| What early humans would eat largely depended on the climate. In northern parts of the world, where there were far fewer plants, it was more efficient to hunt animals since meat and fat contained far more energy than the few scraggly varieties of plants available. |

| A nice bloody steak is good once in a while, but I hardly eat beef. Mostly poultry. |

See, thank you. If things do ever pan out, that's the exact versality I would strive for. I bet those burgers were , tho!:p
Most recently I've been ordering from vegetarian menus when going out. A couple days ago, I had a burrito stuffed with sauteed squash, zucchini, onion, spinach, brocolli, cauliflower, avocado, black beans, tomatoes, basmati rice and topped with a bit of grated parmesan and red sauce. It was simple, wholesome, fulfilling, delicious.
I could just envision me eating like this everyday and feeling great... just getting back to basics.
Anyone have any recipes/favorites? |

| I don't understand how someone can just GO vegetarian. " Next Tuesday I shall start to no longer eat meat ". How can you just STOP eating meat? |

Probably the same way someone just GOES christian, sober, abstinent, or f'ing crazy.
I don't see how this decision is any different than someone stating they will quit smoking next tuesday, quit watching porn, tv, speeding, cussing. The list goes on and on. |
