My manager, Barbie, is not at ALL into politics. (Yes she has blond hair and is very attractive for her age, and no she's not a dumb blond... although this story suggests otherwise)
She got a call from a representative for our municipal NDP candidate. It went as follows-

Rep: Hi there :) I represent Chris Chartlon. Do we have your vote this year?

Barbie: Yes. Sure.

Rep: Did you vote for Chris Charlton last year?

Barbie: We certainly did vote for him.

Rep: ummm... you mean her?

That doesn't make her dumb, that makes her unaware of who the the NDP are and what the hell they really stand for.

Which accounts for about 90% of Canadians.

Even people who vote for them don't know a damn thing about the party.

eat bum <3

PS. I think the NDP party consists of a bunch of frivolous s who support a platform in favour of people who lack morals and are uneducated, lazy boars. I'm a conservative-minded but I do realize that you are a product of the environment in which you grow up, so I am aware of the fact that these lazy heads were not taught the concept of motivation and aspiring to something greater than eating doritos on the couch and taking weekly trips on the bus with their kids to Walmart.

I like unapologetic nonvoters a lot more than the undecided voter.

"2 years of presidential campaigning (and 8 years of the incumbent) hasn't told me enough about the candidates yet, I think I'll take until 6 o'clock on voting day to really make up my mind."

and i know you were talking canadian there, whatever. you get my point.

Stoner's NDP bid up in smoke

By PETER ZIMONJIC, NATIONAL BUREAU

The NDP has fired one of its candidates in British Columbia after a video surfaced of him taking LSD, smoking more than 20 cannabis joints in a single go and driving while under the influence of drugs.

Dana Larsen, a former editor of Cannabis Culture magazine and one-time candidate for the marijuana party, was running for the NDP in the riding of West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast.

Larsen also helped to set up the Vancouver Seed Bank, which not only sells coca seeds, but also marijuana and poppy seeds. Larsen is well plugged in to the cannabis scene and has dozens of videos on YouTube in which he reads from his book: Harry Pothead and the Marijuana Stone.

DISTRACTION

Larsen resigned following a discussion with NDP officials yesterday.

"I didn't want this to distract from the larger issues of the campaign. Since it seemed to be something people would be focusing on, I decided to submit my resignation," he said in an interview.

The NDP has yet to name a new candidate for the riding.

Gerry Scott, campaign manager for the NDP national campaign in B.C., said Larsen's history as a marijuana advocate wasn't a factor in the resignation.

Campaigning in Ontario, NDP Leader Jack Layton couldn't explain why the party didn't vet the candidate more thoroughly.

"I don't know a lot of the details of what's gone on there," he said. "But he's obviously taken the decision that he's not a suitable candidate and we've accepted that decision of our B.C. team and of the candidate himself."
