If you are too lazy to get off your ass for a whole 10 minutes to do your civil duty then you don't deserve to be in this country.

I love how you refer it to as a civil duty. It's not my civil duty, and I'm using my choice of freedom not to vote simple as that.

The people i hate are the ones who go "my vote won't matter, i'm only one person". Well me, if everyone thought like that no one would vote at all, you stupid .

It's a bull system, and that's my opinion. I don't believe in their fundamentals, therefore I choose not to waste my time to go vote.

I don't complain about who wins or who does what. I just adapt to the changes.

If that's your excuse, explain.

Yeah, and if everyone stomped their foot at the same time we'd have an earthquake. You make your choices for youself, not for everybody.
What do you think people think more about : what new car to buy or what candidate to vote for. I'd say the first, because they know it will influence their life. It matters. While they know that their vote does not matter a bit.

Having voted, as well as thinking that people taking voting seriously is somewhat important.... The thing with voting is that it is a right. With any right comes the right not to exercise it. Don't be a politinazi now y'all

Here is what I wrote on TOTA:

Politics is a bull system put in place to hide social corruption. Candidates put forth by the system and voted in by people to continue running a garbage system.

I don't agree with the system. Instead I just choose to adapt to the new changes they bring forth and not whine about it...

For those of you wagging your dutiful fingers at the TAs who didn't vote, take a moment to realize that none of the candidates offered anything innovative or very honourable this time around.

None of the candidates are very inspiring. We have the Liberal dark horse who had hoped "avoir du fun" over the course of the campaign, the good-looking NDP with the charming demeanour who would up any morality this country has left, the conservative ding-dong who relied on hearsay of himself as a heartfelt, loving father to carry him through, and some fat bitch with crooked teeth who apologized to the public that she never smoked weed. :wtf:

In my opinion, this election was a big bore aside from the debates (which are always fun to watch).

Anyhow - stfu. I'm sure if we lived in Trudeau's time (or in Soviet Russia), the story would be different.
SYSTEM-J
The whole system's ed. I don't like how the entire outlook of how a country should be run has to be codified into a simple dichotomy of two parties, right or left, so a party can't just choose whichever course they genuinely think will help solve a problem regardless of how it fits into a larger alignment. I don't like how regularly politicians don't live up to their promises, how most of them will say any old ing to get the votes and then throw those plans out as soon as they get in power. I don't like how my country has not become noticably any better in living memory despite a succession of elected leaders who are apparently trying to make things better, I don't like how the country will still be flawed and ed no matter who gets in- it's just a question of which areas you don't really mind being ed. I don't like the inescapable truth that most politically-motivated people won't admit: that most people vote for bull reasons and the candidate's charisma and performance in some ty media circus events will usually make the crucial difference. I even don't like how the votes are tallied.

voting. And it's not that I don't keep up with these things. Politics is a circus. It's a sideshow, a delusion, a soporific that sedates the masses and lets them think they're going to make a genuine difference. And all this "If everyone thought like you..." business. Not everyone will think like me. That's reality. Some of you will have disagreed with every word I've written and good for you. I'm glad some people are deluded enough to keep voting because at least then a semblence of democracy is retained and we'll avoid slipping into overt dictatorship. That's the one good reason to vote and since sufficient numbers of people are already doing so, don't ask me to bother.

I'd hazard a guess that it's due to laziness that most people don't vote, either that or they just don't give a ...and nothing to do with any of the candidates.

you can still go and sign in and decline to vote....at least this way you are voicing your opinion and it is put on record that you declined to vote....if you are not doing at least this then it comes down to being too lazy to voice your opinion....or you just don't have an opinion..which means you should be killed for being that stupid so you won't procreate and provide the world with another idiot.

My my my, you're one arrogant worm.
As a result of the amount of silly baggage that surrounds each candidate this time around, the WHOLE idea of the election and voting just doesn't appeal to people.

STATS CAN knows how many ppl have the right to vote. They know how many didn't. Leave the math to them and shut up. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech but not all of them choose to spew out the amount of high-and-mighty BS that you do.
