| I thought all transitions had to be at least 64 bars... |

| Yea the set was flat almost as bad as the s.a. set earlier this year. |

I swear, every time I see your screenname at the end of a thread I get giddy with anticipation. It's like having a Christmas Tree that never runs out of presents. |

My hate is the gift that just keeps on giving. |

| I dunno, I had fun.. it was cool to see him do live instrumentation and editing/remixing on the fly.... shrug! :) |

(I made an acct here for this post, but I'll be around)
I, too, was pretty disappointed at his set. It was cool to see him and all, and in theory it was neat to watch him working live and whatnot, but it felt like it was just a Tuesday evening sit around and mess around session for him. Not really caring, per se, just experimenting and seeing what's cool.
Like watching a football team practice. It's cool, but I went to see a game.
Nothing like the sets he played when I'd see him in San Francisco...
I felt like finally at the end he "relented" and played some songs (his old stuff) that the crowd actually got into and fired up about. V. cool, but I'm more used to that kind of intensity for hours.
Oh well, and btw, Sky's sound system is le suck. How is it possible that Austin can't put together a great venue for these world-class artists? |

| The sound system is KILLER but you have to be in the crowd to know that. Or maybe the sound tech just jacked up the sound for that night... |

I was in the dead center of the dance floor - well moving around through the center of the dance floor for the duration of the set - and was unimpressed (maybe it's just lingering snobbery from moving here from the Bay Area).
Off the dance floor it's just bad. Then, though, there's the whole fact that the whole club is designed around providing ~100 people with decent sound (whether or not they accomplish it) - but sure that's OT in this thread. The high treble was "ringing" a bit, which is probably - yes - just a tech problem. |

i, personally, have never been blown away by their sound either. but i wouldn't call it bad. the best sound i have heard isn't in texas.
it's in mexico. dave's mom. screaming in pleasure... and terror. |
