Thanks guys, I know the mix is not 100% perfect, but it's pretty good, and it's nice to see that some people still love hard trance, in which the old skool still rulez :p .
Cheers |

Yeah, good tracks. Honestly, I do think you should be more careful with your transitions though. Patience and practice and it will show. Just trying to give some constructive criticism. Do you ever mix harmonically? I think it's something you should look into perhaps.
Sorry for being harsh but just stick at it and enjoy what you do most of all.
Peace.
PS. I also posted a hard trance mix up this month too, if ur interested. |

I appreciate your feedback, I don't usually spin old skool trance, the bassline in 2003 was a little different than it is now. I know that my transitions were not perfect, I'm too impatient sometimes. I've never mixed "harmonically", does it really help?? |

Harmonic mixing can be really helpful to achieve a nice seamless style of mixing however I find if you start relying on it all the time it can stifle your creativity. A lot of DJs do it without realising but it's not for everyone. It can also show you mixes with tracks that may work that you might not have thought of, so I try to get a balance with tracks that I know are compatible harmonically and mixes where I'm just experimenting on the fly without knowing. Patience I think is crucial to being a good DJ, I mean I'm tempted all the time to get carried away when mixing but at the same time I don't like listening to show-off DJs jump all over their tracks with too much trickery. (Not saying you're guilty of this though.)
Anyway I just think its worthwhile looking into at least coz I think any knowledge that can help make you a better DJ is only going to be a benefit really.;) |
