See I think that is where you are wrong. Ron Paul did a lot of the same things that Obama did.
- Build a grass roots movement.
- Build an ideological goal for people to reach (Libertarianism).
- Raise massive amounts of money through the internet.
- Stand up for those that felt disenfranchised by the republicans.
- Inspired with a more direct, simpler message of change.
I believe he raised the second most money of the candidates during the primaries; second only to Obama.
RP could not make it a civil issue, but he most certainly struck a cord with people's emotions and feelings, just in a different way. |
