any doctors out there?

so i've been sick the past couple of days and intend on going back to work now that i feel healthy (better).

Company policy states that if you sick for a certain amount of days, that you need to get a doctors note saying everything is all good. Otherwise, you get written up (it all deals with how many amnesty days you've used up and bull like that).

Well, to get a doctors note, i need to see a doctor. Unfortunately, i have not had to see a doctor and don't know where to begin. Most people tell me just to go to the emergency room, well, thats an extra $50 out of my pocket. $50!!!!! that. call me cheap, but i'd rather get written up than have to fork over the money.

do any of you guys ever have issues when dealing with doctors, hospitals, insurance carriers, etc...????

show your company you went to see a doctor (normal check-up) and have him/her make sure you're fine. tell them about your previous symptoms and then have a note written that you visited about your recent symptoms and have been checked out and given meds (if any) and that you are doing better.

sounds like a stiff policy at your company. bummer.

yeah its bull .

thing about it is that i dont have a normal doctor for checkups. i'm one of those guys that rarely ever sees a doctor for any reason. when i get sick, i just tough it out.

sucks cuz i pay a lot for that PPO plan too.

Dude,

I had the same thing happend to me last month, I needed a doctors note to go back to work. I missed 4 days, and had NO cash to see my doctor. I have insurance, but didnt have $ for the co-pay. I went in told the receptionst that I needed a note to go back to work. Told her that I was sick, but much better now and didnt have $. She told me to hold on, came back about 5 min later with a note pad and said "what does the note need to state to be acceptable" I told her that it just need to have the date that I was clear to go back to work, she put the next days date, and signed it.

If you have insurance, go to the clinic and tell them your broke! Make sure you take your most raggity clothes.

If you dont walk into any clinic and see if you can get "hooked-up"

;)

Gah! That's so unethical. That doctor can get in deep for having his/her name associated with that.
