This is correct. I was wondering why there was no easy to find, definitive go-to resource for poetry (like a Strunk & White or universally acclaimed "Poet's reference")

Even as a complete novice, I'm able to see that there are a lot of ing s out there who have no idea what they're talking but still give advice and write books anyway.

Is there no trustworthy beginner's book? Some kind of classic? Or does everyone have to find their own way? I don't really mind doing that, but at the same time, I really wouldn't mind a shortcut...

Wrong, I act like a child... I wish I was a child again... hence the pedobear

Wait, is it more socially acceptable to be a 16 year old pedo, or a 21 year old pedo?
Akridrot
The thing is, a 21 year old pedo could still prey on a 16 year old pedo. I don't care much for other 21 year olds, but hypothetically speaking, if I found a 16 year old boy who was into little girls/boys, I would take advantage of him. IF I was into that crap, which I'm not. All of this is a joke. A big internet joke.

Are you talking about reading poetry or writing poetry? There are plenty of books on how to write poetry. I have one, collecting dust.

As for reading it, there aren't any books teaching you how to analyse a novel or a film. The best way to read poetry at this "higher level" is to get a degree in literature.

Both... but if a serious study of literature covers it, then I should be fine. I was thinking of poetry as a completely different thing, not something that people who study literature specialize in. This will make my searching much easier.
