I don't know. Maybe it's cos I is foreign, but I don't understand this at all.
The chances of being killed by your own weapon, or one of your weapons ending up the hands of someone who is going do something very bad with it (like kill your classmates etc.) is so much higher than you ever getting to use it for defence, that it just doesn't seem worth allowing gun ownership. So many people die in this country because of idiots with guns, why have them at all? Please someone explain.
I get it, it's fun for "sport" but when you know someone who had been killed mindlessly with a gun, it kind of changes your perspective. They're not toys (otherwise you'd let kids play with them right?) and calling it a "sport" is not really appropriate is it?
As for the 2nd amendment, I know that's not going to change - too much money involved and the people who oppose it are very well armed, not to mention incredibly scared people.
....but really, the British are not going to invade again and you're ing crazy to think your gun ownership keeps the government in check, in any shape or form (just remember the army, navy and airforce have lots more guns than all of you can ever own - they're really not scared of you. If they want to kill you they'll just simply do it by pressing a button a few hundred miles away).
You need fully automatic large caliber weapons to hunt animals? that's manly isn't it?. You need them to be able to enjoy yourself, knowing the downside and repercussions of them? Next time a toddler get shot in kindergarten just say it a casualty of ....er..."sport"
You want your kids to have easy access to guns (which let's be honest, they do)? Survival of the fittest I suppose, anyway I'm sure your kids will be just like Neo and they can just slow down time and dodge them.

Let me make this clear: These weapons are not used for self defense. Its for sport. The majority of the people that have assault rifles also have a defense weapon aka handgun. It would be stupid for a person to use a high powered rifle inside their home.
I don't know a person who walks around their house showing off their weapons like they are a gangster. The time i used to take the pic was the only time that lock has been off on the trigger.
Just because you don't like it does not mean we have to change the laws. CA has the strictest gun laws in the nation...good for them! They need tough gun laws.

Honestly i think you need to check your facts. I live in a small town where the military, FBI, DEA, Homeland Security, Forest Rangers, Highway Patrol, the County sheriff, city police have an offices in. I have not heard a single person complain about AZ laws. E
