looks just like a big holiday getaway in Mexico during the dead of winter here among industry people with high level connections to various DJs which also just happen to end up playing there. guessing it's one of those 'must attend events' for the who's-who of TO's scene.. well at least it seems if you're affiliated with CirCa at the very least

While most of us have the opportunity to get away from the cold Canadian winter during the holidays, most Bartenders, Promoters and Managers have to entertain. The 1st Annual BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in January 2008 served up a forum for venue professionals to congregate and have some fun!
The latest addition to the blistering international party calendar was the 7 day electronic music festival dedicated to all players in the industry. Every aspect of the industry was represented including top international artists, event planners, venue owners, hospitality staff and Canadian music enthusiasts; not to mention a huge Mexican contingent.
The BPM Team produced the festivities at Kool Beach Club by day and various venues by night. Co-Organizer and DJ Craig Pettigrew secured an impressive line up for BPM in its initial year. Steve Lawler, Dubfire (Deep Dish), Pablo Ceballos (Chus & Ceballos), Gabriel & Dresden and Victor Calderone headlined the evening events at Coco Mayo, El Cielo and Blue Parrot to name a few. Pettigrew and DJ partner James Doman (Doman & Pettigrew), along with DJ Addy tore down the house when they played Alux, a unique natural cave. Now know as the 'Cave Party', it boasts to be one of the best venues to party at during the festival.
Kool Beach Club schmooze, booze 'n' dance gathering was the official meeting place for all partiers to re convene from the night before and enjoy a Bud Light. Capturing the essence of the Canadian scene, homegrown talent rocked the decks in the sun including; DJ's Mikel Curcio, Julien Loreto, Neno, Nitin, DJ Matt C and Johnny White. DJ's from the prominent dance music label Hed Kandi, ended the festival at Kool with a sunset experience that won't soon be forgotten.
This week-long gathering of the hospitality industry and electronic music fans is gloriously affordable and undeniably around-the-clock fun. The event will be among the top electronic music draws in the world in years to come. Time to start checking flights for next year. For all you seasoned partiers.
You know the first few years are always the best, so don't miss out!
