Trapster - see speed traps via your phone

would you sign up for something like this? apparently you sign up, and the place gives you messages when you are near a speed trap. almost like a radar gun, or something.

^^ how does this work?
i think its a scam. i doubt the guns the cops have emit a giant signal enough to reach you 100+m away. like wtf.
also, whats it gonna tell you? oh a laser hit your car bro!! then you see him pointing at you.
and if it causes some sort of error message on their gun, they are gonna pull you over and rip your ass open even harder, they're not dumb. |

what i think is that when you register, you give them your phone number. and then they use your phone as a tracking device or something...so when you get w/in a certain radius of previously recorded "Speed traps" it sends you message...or something like that. i dunno for sure. |

100m is 350ft or so. Those guns can see up to half a mile a way. |

i figured that for yours, i shoulda clarified my post, i meant the devices you buy for your car and .
this way actually seems legit since they tend to stay around the areas but its completely random as to when they are there. and unless you have a phone with gps you're going get triangulated within 300-500m which is kind of useless then.
also, the best way imo;
a stretch that normally goes 60-70 is suddenly doing 40 and people are breaking suddenly your probably in the area for one. |

my ex had a V1 and he still got pulled over a few times with it. |

| I've got a Escort Passport 8500 X50. It's definitely saved my ass on more than one occasion when it comes to radar. But none of the detectors will save you if the cops are using lasers. It's almost instantaneous, so if you're going 100 down the interstate you'd still likely be screwed. |

It is no cure-all as just mentioned, laser is impossible to detect ahead of time if they have hit you. It can be detected if it is near, but otherwise you are stuck. |
