But you are forgetting that the government would probably limit the amount of pot in each joint and the rest would be filler. The pot would not be nearly as good as you can get now. |

I was hoping that maybe the quality would go up, just as id did when alcohol no longer needed to be made in bathtubs pre 1933
I would also like to assume that the normal economic principles will apply to the weed industry creating brands, competition , grades of quality and so on. |

As long as the conservatives are in power, pot will never be legalized in Canada.
And even if the Liberals come back into power and put the bill back up, the USA won't let us legalize it. They would go insane on border checks and threaten trades with us, it's already been mentioned by them!!
It's true though, legalization of weed would bring this country HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE $$$ from taxing.
Oh how I wish it was legal....that would be the day! |

I'd call the Yanks bluff
Because US Customs is not equipped to dealing with massive border checks, and it will be US industries that'll be sending angry messages to the White House due to delays in shipments.
edit: Harper let abortion thing pass. You'd think he wouldn't take same pragmatic approach to legalizing pot, when there might be enough public support for legalization? |

thanks for that, but i meant my question in a different sense, i agree and am aware with what the article shows but I just wanted to know if pot has a single negative side effect or harm to the body or community that has ever been proven by way of study or statistics.
Just trying to fathom how something with no negative effects can be deemed so criminal. has anyone died directly or indirectly due to pot? or has anyone suffered from financial or addiction issues? again just curious. |

That would be fine with me... it would be a nice convenient pack that's ready to light up at any time. Rolling is a drag sometimes, when you want instant gratification. Often I don't even bother smoking because it's just too much trouble, so I grab a beer to help me sleep instead. |
