Something really weird is going on...whenever I try go to "Run" it says it cannot create a shortcut and if I would like to create in in the desktop instead...same thing with "Search".

Is there another way to run the gpedit? |

you can browse to it. it is in the windows folder somewhere. also you can hold the windows key and press r and that will bring up the run dialog. |

Just use a password bootdisk CD to change the admin password on the laptop. I have used this many times and works like a charm. Obviously since you can't download you will have to get someone to burn the .iso onto a CD for you first.

| Just call your IT guys fags if they don't give you download & install privileges. That's what i did and they hooked me up :D |

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought...still not giving up though, I have my hopes on Ben coming up with a solution. He's pretty awesome at this stuff...

| I lost the web page that I had open before I left work yesterday that would have turned this back on too. You have an incompetent IT department. Admin privs yet restricting privs. ing idiots. Let me find this and I will post it. |
