I wouldn't say so, but I have just done that too many times to count. It takes forever sometimes, but some people just can't format. Not everyone has that option |
dude if u fail at this task, I'm not going to let u forget it :stongue: Just like you trying to find glass headlights for a late model mustang, lol. |

Yeah we know. |

Thanks Ben, you're the ! I knew you wouldn't give up on this just yet. And for the record, I agree with you when you say that it's nothing near impossible. I have been able to find workarounds to pretty much every stupid restriction they've put on the company computers. It's just that this one is weird and requires someone more skilled, like yourself ;)
I already had a user for my computer so I tried that one. Problem persists. I'll try and change the password for the local Admin and see if I can get it to work there.
Here's the process list. I see there are a bunch of Cisco processes there so I guess that's good news :)

| I think I know who the culprit is: csacontrol.exe but I cannot kill it :whip: |

Be careful. Your IT department can watch you. They may already be watching you.
DameWare Mini Remote Control Client Agent Service
Dump Nero InCD. It is a piece of and causes problems. Disable the Sonic DLA also. Same exact concept.
Disable Machine Debug Manager service.
C:\PROGRAM FILES\NINJAVIDEO\NINJAVIDEO HELPER\NINJAVIDEO HELPER.EXE
^what is that?!
Here is another to figure out
C:\PROGRAM FILES\PREMITECH\PERFORMANCE GUARD\GUARDAGENT.EXE
I don't see any other processes that look suspect. The rest seem to be legit processes. |

Nah that ain't it. It has to do with the Cisco vpn security. We had that too. It should only set security policies while connected to the VPN.
Although if you want to kill it, you can go and download (just click run instead of save) Process Explorer at www.sysinternals.com |

Oh yes, I have it set up to prompt me whenever they try to connect and I must accept their connections before they can access. And they pretty much only use it to help dumb people change their fonts and , lol.

Oh, Ninjavideo is a site I use to download shows in divx format. I must have this installed in order to be able to download them or I get a lot of errors.

I don't know what it is, but I know that it has been installed on my computer for a long time now. I think it's one of the programs IT pre-installs on all of the company computers, be them laptops or desktops. |

Ok, thanks. Although I am able to download when I'm here at the office directly connected to the network. It's just when I unplug the network cable or use my home connection when the begins to happen. Once I activate the VDI and log to the VPN, I am able to download again. The problem is that I don't want to download 100mb+ sets from home using the VPN and get assraped by IT at one point or another.
It used to be so ing great before, I had a client called VPN-1 installed and all I had to do to disable it was click on the wireless connection, go to properties and uncheck it under the "This connection uses..." menu. Good times, lol. |

Ok good to know.
Try booting into safe mode with networking and see if you can download using IE or FF. |

Cool. You won't get a response till tomorrow, since I am staying offline when I get home now. I am on way too much and getting really sick of it. |
