Private Function #39 - Christmas Night - Phil K (Old School Set) - Ffour

On a rainy Thursday night between Christmas and New Year in 2001, a group of friends got together to hold a party in the side room of the now infamous Salt nightclub. As the original email stated... The concept's quite a simple one. Once a month, get one of Melbourne's premiere venues. Fill it with great music. Tell all of your friends to come along, get them to tell all of their friends to come along - and you've got the ingredients for an awesome night. Over the next six years, the concept pretty much strayed the same, and PF hosted a huge selection of progressive talent from home and abroad such as Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, Habersham, Steve Porter, Matthew Dekay, PQM, Luke Chable and Petter just to name a few.
Since joining forces with Substance back in 2002 for our first Christmas Night/Birthday Event, we've come together each Christmas since, i guess you could say that it's become a bit of an institution. Last year, we invited Gwill Morris back to re-live some of the progressive sounds of Christmas past, and this year (and every Christmas from now on actually), we're getting old school again as we invite Phil K back again to Private Function to relive some of the music that became synonymous with that PF Saturday each month for so many years. After witnessing his old skool set at Sunny's recent birthday party (Phil playing vinyl again? WTF!), it was apparent that we needed to get him back to Private Function for some of the same.
On Thursday December 25th, Ffour will be filled with the sounds of labels like Zero Tolerance, Bedrock, Yooshi, Automatic, Renaissance, Hooj, Vapour, Red Flag, Baroque, Silver Planet, Border Community and EQ Grey (and more) as we celebrate the progressive house we loved and always will. Joining Phil will be some of the usual PF suspects in Gavin Martin, Dean Millson, Steve May & Aaron Roach.
We'll see you on the dancefloor once again.

| You can do it Philby, it's the perfect end to Christmas Day imo. Drinking and eating with Family and friends during the day, drinking and dancing with friends at night! |

| Awesome, just awesome :) I'm keen for a copy of that mix. I haven't been able to get Red Pilot on wax yet. Is the Seperation mix the 4/4 or breaks version? I'm hoping for some ZOT12002 action again. |
