I'm heading out of the country to study abroad - something I actually wanted to do for a while, this is just my excuse.
It will suck if my professors don't let me defer my courses, but I'm just going to try to make the best of the situation :)
...Oh and I find it very unlikely that they'll settle before they have to (i.e. before 12 weeks arives and at that point York is required to give full refunds). |

| good thing i didnt go there.. although international bbb and a $4500 scholarship was very appealing |

| I also feel bad for York U students; I'd be going crazy if I was still in school and experiencing something akin to this. |

Yea it sucks for the students.
It also sucks that ttc buses no longer go anywhere in the campus as i work just on the other side of the campus. Takes me an extra 20 minutes to get to work now!
I cant wait till the strike is over. |

no we wont...
even if the current negotiations fail and TA's go on strike, the university will not be shutdown like York. |

when york manages to do 5 years straight without a strike, that will be the day all theories of space will be null and void |
ya no .. what the hell is wrong with school and their staff? lol
I remember when I was taking broadcasting at Seneca @ York back in 99.. the TA's went on strike and shut the school down.. they were stopping people from entering the grounds. school was still on for me. I used to drive my car over a hill, through some trees and across a field every day to get to class. lol |

yeah it outrages me that they don't let buses into campus - I'd get out and beat the out of whoever is blocking the way
stupid ******s
half of the time those TA's are absolutely ing useless - either speak 1.5 words of English or can't help with questions at all
I just thought of what would have happened if I was still there, aka as an international students.. I think my parents would be livid! and I'm pretty sure I'd just fly home - there is no way they will have any exams in December, might as well start the Christmas holiday right now
class lawsuit is something all the students should look into very seriously! |

I'd be absolutely livid.
Unions that strike this long are atrocious. Actually, most unions are atrocious. |

agreed!
I honestly believe that the need in unions has died a long time ago
now they're just a nuisance
arghh I'm just so angry right now! profs are better be more then just understanding once this is over! |

| In this case, the union does more to polarize opposite sides than it does to actually, erm, unite anything. |
