What are you getting your parents for Christmas?

My mom is impossible to shop for. When I ask her what she wants, or ask my dad what she wants, it's always some vague general answer. My mom never answers that question, and says she doesn't care what I get me. I'm sure she really doesn't care if I get her anything, but I bet she wouldn't be happy if I didn't. My dad said she needs new slippers, and I know that's not enough, so I figure I will go to Bed Bath and Beyond or Brookstone and find something practical and enjoyable for her. Any thoughts or ideas?
My dad, however, is easy to come up with a Christmas gift for. He has a two hour round trip commute to work every day, so I found the entire Dune series (15 books) in Audiobook form, somewhere on the internets. I ordered a bunch of CD cases that hold 20 CD's, and a bunch of blank CD's so that I can burn the entire collection for him. It will take a while, and I have to burn somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 CD's, but it seems like a very nice gift for him, and I think it will be worth it.
What are you guys getting for your parents? |

| Just buy your mother a gift certificate for a one hour massage (or whatever treatment she might like) at a fancy spa. |

We got my mom a Wii (and will add the Wii fit if we can find one) along with some other random stuff.
I can't remember what we got my outlaws... you'd have to ask Mrs. Hazard... she's got the vagina so she does the shopping. |

See, that's a great idea, but she gets massages for the cheap at the club that she's a member of. I'm sure that would be nice, but ultimately pointless when she has the opportunity to get one for the low whenever she needs. Any other ideas? Slippers and something else... |

Eh, under $100 for her. My brother and I combined on my dad's gift, and ended up spending about 160 bucks total to get all the CD cases and blank CD's. Slippers aren't too expensive, so something else that is relatively practical should do the trick. |

Hah, well I have no idea then. Lol.
Spa gifts are my new failsafe gift. Got one for my mentor, got one for my best friend last year, and I'd get them for my mom if she was well enough to go.
I'm gonna get a mother/daughter deal for my bf's mom and sister, lol. |

Exactly, see, I was thinking about hitting up Bed Bath and Beyond and getting her some bath scrubs or a basket with some that smells good. My mom loves that kind of stuff. I bet they have stuff like that there, or maybe I could find something techy at Brookstone that she could use. If I don't find anything at Brookstone, which is likely, then I will just get her some of that stuff. I'm sure she'll like what I get her either way. Thanks, Jay. |
