There is nothing to do in Toronto, it is the world's most boring place apart from Ottawa. |
LOL, I've been a Montrealer for 20 years, and Toronto's been a lot more fun! |

So, I'll be in Toronto from Christmas through New Years this year. I've been a couple times and done a lot of the touristy stuff like the CN Tower, Leafs game, HHoF, etc.
Unfortunately, a lot of the info in the Toronto Visitor's Thread is outdated. So, what sort of basic stuff is there to do for fun? I like museums, music, parks, zoos...that sort of thing. What are some good places to eat that I won't find online or in a brochure? What are some places I can get lost people watching or just walking around seeing things and taking photos? Are there any events in the area worth catching or anything worth doing that a casual tourist might miss? What areas should I see and what should I avoid?
As fun as checking out shopping malls and commercial districts sounds, I'm going to have to hope for some other suggestions from this thread. if any mod sees fit to move this to the t.dot section, please let me know? |
How's life since Ultra 2005? |

Boxing day on young st promises to be a shootin' good time! Other fun things to do in toronto.... throwing beer bottles off the top floor of the Madison, then running away from the bouncers for as long as possible in the maze house to avoid getting tossed (my personal best is 40 mins)..... The ultimate challenge is of course "who can rack up the biggest bar tab in 4 hours at the Elephant and Castle on Young st." my record is 380$, but i think you can do better..... |

It's a different fun. Both are fun. Montreal gave me a start in DJing on the Crescent St strip back in the day, and gave me love with EDM that Toronto could not provide until years later. Toronto EDM music scene sucked when I came here in '91. Torontonians were all into hiphop and R&B. Huge contrast. It took years for Toronto to catch up to Montreal. They got it right now. I would say it took me about 5 years to finally appreciate Toronto. The first 5 sucked, with the exception of being relieved or political drama. Then I got to learn about my new city. |
