What's there to do in Toronto?

So, I'll be in Toronto from Christmas through New Years this year. I've been a couple times and done a lot of the touristy stuff like the CN Tower, Leafs game, HHoF, etc.

Unfortunately, a lot of the info in the Toronto Visitor's Thread is outdated. So, what sort of basic stuff is there to do for fun? I like museums, music, parks, zoos...that sort of thing. What are some good places to eat that I won't find online or in a brochure? What are some places I can get lost people watching or just walking around seeing things and taking photos? Are there any events in the area worth catching or anything worth doing that a casual tourist might miss? What areas should I see and what should I avoid?

As fun as checking out shopping malls and commercial districts sounds, I'm going to have to hope for some other suggestions from this thread. if any mod sees fit to move this to the t.dot section, please let me know?

Oi, I've been in NY for almost two months, and you still owe me a night of inebriated shenanigans. I demand that you come up with a house party or a similar event in Toronto on NYE to rectify the situation!

if you kidnap him and bring him to me, i'll pay you.

It's the equivalent of an empty net goal. I mean, yeah, it's on the scoreboard, but way to pick the low-hanging fruit :p

There is nothing to do in Toronto, it is the world's most boring place apart from Ottawa.
