Good headphones help you make mixes that transfer better to a wide variety of sound systems. They help you catch details that cheaper headphones wouldn't.
They're also nicer to listen to music on. :) |

Who said anything about good or cheap? I said what is the big deal about AKG. What specs make their hardware better than others? Etc Etc. |

They are one of the biggest companies for studio headphones, what more is there to say ? They have cheap headphones as well as expensive ones, just like any other manufacturer.
I dont see anyone saying anything about AKG being best at anything, they all have high and low end models. |

| Well I can name 5 "big companies" that produce hardware stuff, but when it comes to monitors or headphones people only seem to mention AKG, just curious as to what all the hype is about. Personally Ive used Behringer for most of my life. And Id say it is a nice ride. Gotta love the Germans when it comes to Electronics. [not so much when it comes to politics :P] |

Could have something to do with that their 240 headphones has been used in studios for over 20 years or something like that. |
