AKG K240 MK II

Anyone got any objections, other recommendations or experience about these headphones ?

These will be used directly into the soundcard for mixing, composing etc.

akg k240s are awesome, i just got some mk IIs cause i wanted the replaceable cable and earpads, they're not necessary though, so just go for the Studio ones which are a fair bit cheaper unless your obsessive like me :p

I actually own these headphones and overall, they're great. Some points I'd like to address though:

Pros:
- Very light, I can wear these for hours without getting a headache
- Clean sound
- Solid build

Cons:
- I cannot rely on them 100% to give me an accurate sound for monitoring. I use it for when doing things like mixing, putting the actual track together, and working on the song structure, but I'd never use it for EQing or mastering. I always recommend using monitor speakers for that.

Hope that helps!

Those are great headphones for DJing, but for composing and monitoring your mix, they're absolutely off =)
