REVIEW - STEVE AOKI Vs MSTRKRFT(feat Vandalism) @ Zu Bar 12/21/08

OOOOh what a krazy nyte in burlington.....
I cant believe there was no mention of this event anywhere on TA, not even on the event boards.....
Anyways Steve Aoki was the only one promoted to be the only one playing, but of course if Aoki is in Ontario MSTRKRFT is gunna come out and support there boy.....
I've seen these guys rip it a few times at guv as im sure most guv heads have.....but this time it was nice being in burlington to change it up......
the burlington/hamlton crowd is different from the t.o crowd and there much chiller to party with.....
As you can imagine Aoki and MSTRKRFT went back in fourth.....come to think of it only remember JFK on the decks, I dont remember seeing ALP on the decks, but i was F***ered im prbly wrong....
I do remember them announcing Vandalism was in the house, I do believe the one of the guys from Vandalism played a couple of tracks....
Back to the tunes, they played quite a few tracks off of Aoki's DJ Mag disc, i know they played bounce, i wanted them to play the remix of bounce feat NORE which is on mstrkrfts myspace....check it out its a nice electronic/hip hop tune.......
They did play alot more commercial then they would at guv or in europe, which is perfect because they had to cater to a top 40 club.....
They also ended the night with the tune from the movie Greece, which was funny as ....
So if you werent there and you like Aoki and MSTRKRFT you ED up plain and simple.....
10/10 on all levels..... |

He was mashed, but i've seen him worest.....he didnt kick over the laptop this time so I would say its an improvement.....

please do not confuse the Hamilton crowd with burlington. We are much more out of control (the good out of control) in The Hammer.
How many people were there? That place is pretty big. I can't really see it filling up for Aoki, essecially on a sunday evening. |
