Wow, first time ever I think. I remember it being 19+ during the good ol' Tranzworld days. Must mean they're getting more consistently solid crowds coming too :) |

I went to WH last weekend, and apparently they're under new management? I had a terrible time getting in. My friend and I were on line waiting and the bouncer is shouting out, "everyone to the right, single file..." Ok, not a problem. Then he cuts the line off and says "That's it, no one else is getting in. You all need to clear out. Get off the sidewalk, you can't stay here."
So we clear out. Then 2 seconds later another line forms and the SAME bouncer says "everyone to the right, single file..." He then proceeds to go down the line and ask if anyone wanted bottle service because it would improve our chances of getting in that night. Then he kicked all but the first 6 or 7 people off the line again.
Well after the 2nd time we got kicked off the line, Webster Hall could go themselves. It's not like we were at a ritzy fancy place that only the richest socialites could get in to... It was a house music party at WH. The elitist attitude of the bouncers makes me never want to bother going there again. The is absolutely no reason why I should have to get the headlining DJ to come to the door and escort me and my friends inside. AND when we got inside the place was not packed to the rafters, it was half empty.
I hope they get their together for this weekend, because we had nothing but trouble last weekend. I think it's a bad business move on their part. Lots of people left that line who I'm sure would have spent lots of money at the bar. We were about to leave when we finally got in. And but for the fact that they were such s I'm sure I would have spent over $100 at the bar. I hope they figure out that my money (and anyone elses) spends anywhere and they should check that attitude.
That being said, I'll be there for this one w/ my people. We'll see how WH does. I'm sure buying an advance ticket would alleviate some of that nonsense, but I don't think it should be necessary to buy an advance ticket to something unless it's a huge event that looks like it's going to sell out or have ridiculous prices at the door. Maybe they were ironing things out what with their change in management. But if the same thing happens, they can kiss my ass. |

hey Erica. I forwarded this over to Webster Hall's management, and they basically said that they're still in the process of trying to work out all the kinks with the club having just switched to 21+. I think that may have been one of, if not the first night they made the switch. Either way, they assured me everything would be ironed out and running smoothly tomorrow night. |
