ALL I GOTTA SAY IS... NO 3G.. NO THANK YOU!

(The Following is Not Me)

It looks like iPhone Nano is going to dominate the rumor mill prior to Macworld 2009.

Last week, iDealsChina had published the information and rendering of the iPhone Nano case manufactured by a Chinese case manufacturer, XSKN claiming that the product will be announced at Macworld San Francisco 2009.

Yesterday, we had reported that the case manufacturer had added references to iPhone nano on its website suggesting that rumors of a smaller version of iPhone could be true.

And now MacRumors has published photo of iPhone Nano which were submitted by an anonymous reader.

MacRumors has clarified that they have "serious doubts about the likelyhood of such a device based on the quality of the sources as well as the practicality of introducing a new form factor to the iPhone/iPod Touch platform."

However, MacRumors points out that it is at least consistent with the leaked photo of iPhone nano's case.

But in my opinion, the photo of the iPhone nano as seen below appears to be a Photoshop job.

Here are some of the reasons why I think the iPhone nano is unlikely:

The so-called iPhone Nano's screen is too small to use iPhone's virtual keyboard.
The smaller screen will have issues for iPhone apps that are currently developed for iPhone's 3.5 inch screen.
I would like to add another reason to this list, I think the so-called iPhone Nano would make it difficult to use as a phone as it is too small to cover the distance between the human ear and the mouth which is essential for mobile phones with a brick-like form factor.

What do you think? Do you think it will be usable?

Pretty obvious move from Apple tbh. They have to milk the iPhone property somehow so releasing newer versions every is the most obvious choice. Pretty soon we'll have iPhone's in different colours and hopefully an iPhone Shuffle, that will randomly call people in your contacts list.

Lots of ppl are making cases for it ... who knows if it comes out or not. Dont really care for this, but it will be under the $100.00 range and might but used for a phone, txting and ipod use only.

To anyswer your questions.

The so-called iPhone Nano's screen is too small to use iPhone's virtual keyboard.

1- landscape txting

The smaller screen will have issues for iPhone apps that are currently developed for iPhone's 3.5 inch screen.

2- they'll come out with a nano ver of the same app

3- They'll come out with a mic that can be use for that distance.

4- 3G, who knows .... batt life will be drained for that size.

*** Should of posted this in my iphone thread LOL ***

I've heard about these rumours for some time and would be excited to get an iPhone nano with the simple reason being it'll fit into a small wristlet which I can carry around when I don't want to carry a purse. I find too many of the smartphones are large and miss the tiny phones.

If anyone recalls the panasonic g50 (still one of my personal faves of all time) it was tiny and yet I found the sound quality both for myself and people I spoke to was pretty good..no complaints at all so this can definitely be done.
