ATB = meh
George Acosta = pretty decent
I will say that 20 bucks was well spent. I'll give a full review later on today, I do have lots to catch up and that includes sleep.
One more thing I do want to mention, does anyone still wants to play Tetris? ;-)
All shouts and reviewing coming later tonight.

IMO, ATB and the opener suck.
George Acosta came through and tore the club a brand new . He was relentless and played what trance is really supposed to be, Armin/Tiesto/Ferry. This guy is up there with PvD in how he just bangs it out with pure awesome.
For a guy who gets hated on as much as he does on these forums, he sure did play on of the most on point trance sets I've heard in a while. |

i missed acosta but atb was ok. not all that impressed. armando was good but a little overly electro-y for my taste. left to go to muse before acosta came on but didn't make it.
here's my review, as i posted on the glowboard:
so janette and i got there just as armando was warming up and for a hot second there, i forgot armando was even scheduled to play (i was thinking just atb and acosta) and i remember janette saying to me "wow, acosta got really good" and i was like "um, he really changed his style" and then when we finally took a closer look i was like "um, that is not acosta." fail. well i will say that i thought armando did a nice job opening up, even though the majority of his set was a little too electro-y for me, but it was definitely a nice energetic get-you-in-the-mood set and there were some tracks i really enjoyed (also a few, and can't think of them off the top of my head, where i was like... um... wtf? why is he playing this?). it started to fill up pretty early and in our rounds to check out the crowd, there was a circle formed (i thought fur doesn't allow dance circles like that?) and 2 really people were doing really HORRIBLE poi to the point where it was almost laughable. i was trying to figure out if the people who formed the circle were actually enjoying this sad show or if they were merely watching for entertainment purposes to point and laugh... it was that bad.
Anyway, so the crowd really filled up and I saw a bunch of people who havent been out in awhile, in particular, Mario, Allen, Tom Colontonio, limin, robert and his wife, a few others, and of course, all of the usuals. the crowd got really thick and it was just too packed too move at one point, and when they threw glowsticks from the dj booth, not only did i get pelted in the head, but the surge of people trying to grab them was painful. when ATB came on, everyone was going nuts, and i will say that hvaing never actually seen him live before, i enjoyed his set for as long as i was there. i wouldn't say it was anything extraordinray, i probably wouldnt' go out of my way to see him again, but it was good times and now i can say i saw him. i liked his energy but i did think his performance was slightly over the edge at times, i.e. i remember jason remarking 5 minutes into his set how it seemed a little early for the "jesus pose" but hey, the crowd was feeding off of it. i knew going into the night that he would probably play all his old hits, and that was definitely a true prediction. the whole "til i come" tease was kind of annoying. i actually wanted to just hear the damn track, even though it is so overplayed.
Around 2:15 we decided to leave b/c neither of us really cared much to see acosta and we wanted to check out muse before it closed, but we never actually ended up making it to muse and instead opted to come home and have a small afterparty. when i say "we" i really mean "me" because janette promptly passed out face down on my bathroom floor and could not be budged if her life depended on it, so we covered her with blankets and let her sleep there. eventually everyone at my house except me, as usual, passed out, and i moved on to another party in search of music for the next 4 hours to pass the time and then came home around noon.
i have some deliciously interesting pics from the night, courtesy of my new camera and i'm working on uploading them now. i'll post them in a bit. i'm kind of bummed that my pics of the djs didnt come out good and once again i am blaming that on the dj booth being way too high (and slightly on my ignorance of my camera settings).
all in all i give the night a 7/10. |

| ATB's set blew me away. Acosta was great, but ATB seemed to be way more into it. I left around 4:30. It was a great way to spend my B-Day. |

Time for my review
I got there around 10:40pm Deal with different hobo this time around the parking space.
I met up with my friend Mark Maskell who was working that night. He hook it up of course.
Met up with the Glow usuals including Amy, Jeanette, Jojo, Sarah, Mike(bedrock science), Darren etc etc.
Jojo was hollaring at me, "Yo, I think thats ATB up there in the VIP." I said, "Lets go meet him" As turns out, his manager was being a bitch. When we walked up there, he was like "later man, later man" ATB is that big anyway. Never again, no matter how good ATB is or later on. I am not buying it.
George Acosta def ripped people in pieces and get it back together again. During his peak set, he played this song that the Tetris theme to it. I was blown away by it. If George would play something happy during the 4:30 hour, I was going to die!!!!!! But he didn't so, I had to leave.
Great party, See you all at NYE in Alexandria :-) |

| Does ATB carry CDJ-400s around with him or does FUR have them now? He was on CDJ-400s when I saw him at Beta in Denver. |
