| the admin clearly state.....NO MP3 ALBUMS WHATSOEVER.....so wait till it comes out....you bunch of cheapskates!. Seriously putting albums on sites is illegal and wrong and ppl just don't read the rules. It's to keep the site without lawsuits. |

Holy , the hypocrisy on this board is amazing. You (meaning everyone, including mods) preach Audiogalaxy and its amazing-ness, but what is it? AN APPLICATION FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD ILLEGAL MUSIC!!!!!! You tell me what the difference between me GIVING A LINK to the album, and YOU giving a link to an AG file. and please don't format it like this.
"omg, u gots to dig tha AG m8 lol!" <--- which is what 3/4 of the posts on this board sound like it.
Further more, if you can give me just one example how getting an album off the net is different then downloading a full vinyl rip off AG, then I will retract my whole statement.
And besides, I was merely giving a link to shut half the people up who were whining about not being able to find it. You cannot possible get in any legal trouble for that at all. |

dude calm down. Basically albums invole alot more work by the producer and the record company. companies are alot more bothered about sharing of albums than tracks, because theres alot more money involved in it. so if say work got around that a new hot off the press album was available on tranceaddict (even if it wasnt, if the link was on these boards, people can say goto ta.com and its there) the name gets around that ta.com has an album, word gets to the record company, they get the in charge to stop us = site closed.
The sharing of single tracks doesnt seem to atract much single attention on sites, but albums do, so thats why we say no albums!

| SO what your saying is that if I got the tracklisting for a CD (which I can't get from the tracklistings forum because apparantly the mods think tracklistings are illegal), and downloaded all the tracks, that would be alright? Of course not, that's just a cop-out. The thing is that one illegal medium is no different than another illegal medium. Now I was wrong to post that link because that is supporting "warez" but in my opinion, 95% of the people on this board will buy the CD anyways (I know I will). But I don't like how the mods of this forum can condone one thing and not another. |

| Tracklists themselves are fine, we don't know what ppl do with the tracklists. You cannot ask for a cue file in the tracklist forum and same with asking for an album and same with posting the link to one. Some of us mods won't d/l albums like me, i want an album, i will go buy it. But if you feel so strongly ray_finkle about this problems, go talk to swamper, after all the dude owns the site. |

If you went to the tracklist forum and got the tracklist, there nothing illegal about that (i never goto the tracklist forum so i have no clue what happens over there) and then go to ag and download all the album, thats upto you, ag would be doing ur illegal bidding, but what we're saying is that although downloading the album is illegal in general, we dont want any reference to albmus on this site.
If u go and download all the tracks manaually, thats upto you, ta.com has no responsiability for ur actions, the record companies would turn to ag in order to stop you. If word got around you could download it here on ta.com (ag link or http:// link) then ta.com would get into the record companies ears and they would close us.
Basically the point is that its illegal to do it anyway, but if people wana do it we cant stop them, just we want no part of it, no links on ta, no nothing, understand where im going? if people wana share albums thats upto them, just not accross this board!

I do that too but my philosophy is that I will download an album and if I like it, I go out and buy it (which is what I do, I buy an insane amount of cds) and if I hate it, I delete it and never listen to it again. My biggest concern is that you guys are cracking down on links to sites, and not cracking down to other blatant forms of illegal music or software stealing on this site. If you want an example of that, just check out the producer's forum and there is usually one or two threads on the same page with questions on how to install illegal copies of Reason.
Sorry if I am coming across as a jerk but oh well. |

u do have a point, there is a no warez policy also, but im not a main forum mod and they are ment to automactially edit and close all warez related things when they see them. (ive also seen innocents when they havent).
its hard to stop everything tho, but we try, its illegal to drink and drive, but being a friday nite, how many drunks on the road u think there are?
Anyway, im off to bed, got work in 3hrs and 20 mins and i aint even got bed yet, madness! lol!!!!
