DJ's obsessively touching the mixer

Ever watch a dj that keeps fiddling with the mixer (or controller) even though they're not really doing anything? I never understood this. A track can only be EQ'ed so perfectly and then after that there's really no point in ing with everything.

I'll see if I can find an example on youtube

i used to dj a lot out... reason i did was so when people looking at me, that i would'nt look so bored behide the mixer.than just standing there.most time you would'nt be even adjusting the eq....waiting 4 -5 mins to mix in the next track can be a long time. its just a force of habbit thing aswell. somethimes it can work good for you if get people half pissed coming up to and talking e.. pretent your mixing away

Mark EG obsessively bleeds on the mixer.

You can still do stuff with the EQs while the track is playing. Faux builds and such.

Most of it is for show tho.

there are other ways to mix then drop track, wait 6 minutes and drop another one.

stop liking djs that do this.

A good DJ knows when to take a step back and let the track come through without interference.
