Oh man...the BCS's worst nightmare

The Utah Utes just dominated Alabama and have capped a perfect season [13-0]. And the Mormons have won nothing besides some new bikes for their neighborhood preachings.

How do they deserve to be ranked? Playoff system here we come?

The Utes?

Great movie...

Bill: We should get tuna.
Stan: Please no more tuna.
Bill: It has protein, we need protein.
Stan: Beans have protein.
Bill: Beans make you fart.
Stan: We got a convertible.

Obama is the BCS' worst nightmare

Nah... a plus 1 game soon maybe but I don't see those playoffs coming soon (unfortunately). Congrats to the Utes but the reality is, if they played in the Big 12 or the SEC they'd probably have 3 or 4 losses. They don't recruit the same type of athlete you know? Maybe a player or 2 will go to the NFL but that's all. Look at USC- they have 10 NFL players just on the defensive side of the ball.

In perspective, Utah's schedule isn't that daunting. Bama was without their consensus 1st Team All American offensive lineman, had to start 2 true freshman on the line tonight as well that had only 2 guys that started all year... almost everyone on that O line was out of their usual position. Bama's QB had been sacked 17 times all year, and 8 in this game... that tells you what the problem was. Plus they were 1 game away from the Nat. Championship before losing to UF, and probably found it hard to even get up for this game. It's like when Boise State knocked off Oklahoma a couple of years ago. Sure, a mid-major team can win from time to time against the big boys, but the reality is they just don't have remotely the same level of athlete that could compete week in and week out.

Their strength of schedule isn't strong, but I still say we need some sort of playoff system. 13-0 is still 13-0. Injuries or not, this is a strong 'Bama team.

The Utes deserve more than a computer telling them they can't play for the national championship.

Well, in their defense, they didn't expect Michigan to be bad when they originally agreed to play them. At least they attempted to play a traditional powerhouse in their out of conference schedule.

it's college football. if you really care about college football that much you should probably reassess your priorities.

Out of curiosity, did you/do you go to the University of Maryland?

Well they had the #1 overall draft pick (Alex Smith) a few years ago! But seriously, in Utah's defense they marched into the Big House and beat Michigan.

Oh wait. Nevermind, they probably still suck.

LOL! a 3-9 Michigan who had their worst year ever. Look for Alex Smith serving burgers or selling insurance in 2009 :stongue:
