i'm starting to bust out DOSbox- just got Wing Commander 3 and Crusader- No Regret :D :D :D fat middle-aged B movie mark hamill ftw
so i'm curious- what's your favorite DOS games? pics or descriptions welcome |

| crusader! i used to love that haha, with the boba fett lookalike character :D i +1 with pkc, tie fighter is pretty much my favourite game ever. i used to like califoria games, space quest, c&c, all the old lucasarts adventure games and a whole heap of others too. |

| x-wing/tie fighter series, Wing Comamnder series, Falcon 3.0, most of the Lucas Arts games with the Scumm engine...there are too many DOS games that i love to list. In fact i love more DOS game than games that came out in the last 10 years or so...they just made them better back then...they really did |

In reality, that is hard to say, simply due to the "nostalgic effect" as I like to call it. Games that I used to play as a kid are and will always be better than the games I play today. Simply because I remember loving them so much.
But are the games really "better"?
Well, I WILL say that gaming has become a lot more commercialized in the last 5-10 years, with very few original franchises or properties (mostly sequels, rehashes, and remakes) and a lot more product placement/advertising taking priority over other aspects of the games that should be paid more attention to.
But still, it's all real cloudy as to if games were really "better" back in the day, or if we just see it that way since we always refer to the past as the "good ol' days". |

There are very very few games that can stand beside their grandchildren and still be considered as good imo. Old games were also much easier to make, and gamers expected far less from developers.
Tie fighter is pretty much the only title from (my) yesteryear that I don’t think has been bettered yet. |
