I know for a fact that Picotto Plays Techno almost exclusively these days, he is however NOT a techno DJ. Playing Tech tunes like a trance DJ doesn't make you a Techno DJ, it makes you a Trance DJ that plays Techno.
And I'll reiterate the fact that I love Picotto, and I love Techno, I know what I'm talking about... |

I guess you dont know what your talking about.Picotto is techno.period!!Unless you think:Speedy J,Danilo Vigorito & Chris Liebing are trance.Yes then your right that picotto is a trance dj..
If you can tell me a recent set from him that is NOT techno i will send you a $1000.His last trancey set i can remember is @ Trance Energy 2001.Nowadays his main productions are techno.And sometimes he makes a trance tune.Like Back To Cali.

What I have actually said is that Playing Techno Records does not make you a Techno DJ, I'm not saying that Liebing, speedy etc are 'trance' DJ's.
Picotto plays TECHNO records - LIKE a trance DJ, ie first 8 bars mixed into the last 8 bars of the previous, he plays all of his tunes in a flat 'trance' way, and not cutting and mixing like a TECHNO DJ - therefore he is NOT a Techno DJ - period. |

it seems odd to me that you can write the name of Chris Liebing and 'picotto' in the same post :haha: Chris Liebing is a techno dj... picotto is not. |

| If Picotto spins techno 99% of the time now in his sets, he's a techno DJ. And maybe ure not listening to his mixing properly coz its VERY different to the likes of other trance DJ's |

| I heard this on Armin's show, Episode 51. Its crazy! I notice he used the same instrument as in The Legacy. The Original Mix of Back To Cali was pretty happy and uplifting, Push's remix kinda changes that to a somewhat progressive kinda of tune. I prefer the Original Mix, over Push! :eek: |

:haha: no... he is not... his comments are 100% accurate.. but the only way that you can understand them if you have knowledge of and love of techno...
picotto plays techno records.... i can guarantee 25% of his set will be Chris Liebing.
however
picotto is not a 'techno dj' and should not be associated with techno. on the whole.. he is NOT associated with techno.
when was the last time Chris Liebing or DJ Rush played a picotto record ?? it just doesnt happen. |
