lol @ having an argument over whether having more "skasians" or "noobs" is preferable at The Guv.

I know it's TA culture and all to poke fun at noobs but really we all started off as 'noobs' and if it wasnt for them our scene would die (no one to replace the retired vets). A lot of us (not all) heard our first EDM track on the radio as well.

I disagree....I'm so old...they didn't even have turn tables when I started listening to EDM.....we just hit things over and over again and we danced to it.

i feel very good about the 15th. i don't think dubfire will disappoint this time now that the focus will be on him in main room... as opposed to the last viva, where the guvy was kind of dead during his set. it seemed like everyone was waiting for the anticlimactic sunrise sets that weren't translated well by skybar's sound system + zombies in the sun.

been playing the recent madrid set that was posted somewhere here a lot over the last couple days, the style he caught everyones attention with in '07 is still going strong it seems.. and who doesn't like most of his productions. haven't heard a bad thing about squillace either, fantasizing about hearing sketchy tech all night in the main room :toothless

and who cares about the z103 crowd.. people should tell all their funny stories about them all they want, but there's no point in continuously complaining about it before the parties even happen. it's a fact that a certain % of the clubbing demographic are s who drink and don't have a passion for this kind of music. guv isn't going to stop tapping into them because they offend ppl on tranceaddict. get over it

I will never forget the night my friend Owen ("Owen M") was spinning at that big venue in Cambridge (Owen plays his own flavour of funky house) and this one guy was like "oh you know him? ya he's sick! Do you think you can get him to play some Armin van BOOren??!!"

thats what I was talking about with the z103 crowd. This happened to me too many times the last z103 party i went to. Not to mention The body checks I got from the people trying to get right up in front.

i guess you'll never have fun at a rock concert..

if someone seriously does run around checking people in full force then tell the nearest bouncer... or listen to russell peters' advice and BE A MAN and find your own solution. radio station promotion choices are not a variable here

Everything's a competition eh?

I think Graham's point was that arguing about skasians vs. ginos at the Guvernment is like arguing about gall stones vs. kidney stones in your piss. My point was precisely about trying to be cool by making sure to point out all of the mouth-breathing plebeians.

(Not that sketch can't be hilarious and entertaining, but that's not the sort of observation occurring in this thread)
