Sounds like Sony is ready to lose even more money. Nonetheless, unlike MS, Sony doesn't profit any money, so I'm sure if 360 prices start to drop, Sony will trail behind with price dropping.
Thanks for the help d00dz. Being that I'm getting older and running out of to do, or running out of things I find interesting (I know what you mean about $299 though Steph, sounds like the thing I'd do too), I wanna get something that won't get old after a while and get it quick. I'll give Target the honor of stealin' my monies this weekend.
:haha: |

The only reason I would buy a PS3 is for the blu ray, but I already have a blu ray, so I wouldn't buy one.
I keep wanting to pick up a 360, but I always spend the money on production gear instead. |

Do you have a GC to target?
*scratches head*
I gave you a link to Dell that is selling the PS3 for 316. Waiting for 4 months when 316 is right there? Very little price difference between the two. 316-299=17 bucks. You make that in half an hours time I'm sure right?
Plus slickdeals has a deal on the xbox 360 if you decide to go that route. Unless you have a GC to target you'd be silly to pay retail price over Dell. |

That is true. If you already have a blu-ray player than I'd probably go the xbox 360 route as well. It's like having your cake and eating it to. I'm still not too fond of having to play for online play. If xbox somehow had a free dumbed down version of xbox live that would work for me but that wouldn't make sense for MS so that'll never happen. :) |

GC? You mean CC as in credit card? yea I have the Target card.
Dell is selling the PS3, but the warranty is 90 days, and after that it's non-refundable. If I can get the system at target and I pass the 30 margin and THEN the system fries, I can usually go up there and raise hell at the manager and exchange it. :haha:
I gotta read the policy at Dell thoroughly though. I mean , if I can get it at 316 without having to worry about it breaking or anything (especially during shipping), then I'll go for it. i just hate the idea of waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting until i send the item out, they get it, they check it out, they send it back, and UPS drops it off at my front door.

| Fact unless your was defective out of the box the retailer will tell you to call sony or MS for repairs either way. I guess you could raise hell on a weak manager, but if I were that manager I'd tell you to get ed and call security if you raised your voice. |

| i've had the ps3 for over a year without any problems. unless you're going to throw it around it will be fine. it's also survived a couple moves with just a towel wrapped around it. no big deal. |

That's not what happened to my brother when he moved. The 360's cd-tray wiggled its way out of the gears and would not shut anymore, so he just went back to Target and told them the Xbox was defective, showed them the reciept and was able to exchange it just 2 weeks after he bought it brand new. Target can have the pleasure of sending the machine back, not me.
btw, put a paintball gun in your vagina. |

Moves in particular is what scares. I guess the fckn laptop I had scarred me for life (i.e. moving the around too many times friend the HDD), plus the reviews on cnet where some guy said that if the machine were dropped once, you might as well go out and buy another console. |

That's a 90 day warranty from dell but the PS3 itself has a 1 year manufacterer's warranty from Sony so after 90 days you would go to Sony for your warranty issues. |

i believe the dropping thing is probably true that it would bust it up. just don't drop it. i haven't had a problem and i don't baby that thing. |

How are the graphics with the ps3 via your tv?
another thing i was going to ask: are there any special cables (hdmi, etc...) needed to give the resolution a "boost"? The plasma I bought had a sticker on it that said "full 1080i"...im guessing that means i got my money's worth :toothless |
