But I had to reply to this one because it's a good bet we won't see a new console for another two years or sooo... Personal prefference lays with xBox though... |
It's turned more or less into should he buy now or later. They are predicting a price cut in the PS3 come the new fiscal year for Sony in April. Currently retailing at 399 for the 80GB model. The biggest predicted price cut would be down to 299 IF it happens. The topic at hand is Dell is selling it for 316 right now so why wait 2.5 months for a price cut that may or may not come. A 17 dollar difference is a minimal loss to take for not having to wait to get your PS3 in my opinion.
For Carlos that's just one extra Deuce Bigalow he has to perform :D |

Fuck the possible price cut. He wants a console now, not months from now. Guide to buying a gaming console:
1) choose a console
2) buy it |

Not a single PS3 game to be found.
by Nate Ahearn
January 15, 2009 - GameDaily.com is reporting on videogame rental data released by Rentrak that shows Grand Theft Auto IV as the most rented videogame of 2008. More specifically, it was the Xbox 360 version that captured the crown in its 35 weeks of release. Seven of the ten games are from Microsoft's system while the other three called Nintendo's Wii home. No PlayStation 3 games made the top ten. Four of the ten top rentals of 2008 were released in 2007, including: Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed and Mario Party 8. No specific rental sales numbers were listed.
Here's the rest of the list:
1. Grand Theft Auto IV – Xbox 360 – Rockstar Games
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – Xbox 360 – Activision
3. Halo 3 – Xbox 360 – Microsoft

just because it's more popular doesn't mean it will work better
example: obama |

| See that is why I don't have an Xbox. All of those games I think are better on the PC. Except for the ones on the wii which i had but never played. |

Considering there are more XBOXs sold than PS3s I'm not surprised there are more xbox games rented or played.
6 out 10 of those games are also available on the PS3 while 1 is a XBOX exclusive. The rest are Wii games. As I said before if you're hardcore gamer then go for the xbox. If you want a balance between movies and games, then go for the PS3. |

Which works better is a matter of opinion for the most part. When gta 4 and all of the arcade games for xbox live were announced, I knew I had to buy one. I was formerly a huge Playstation enthusiast and hated xbox for years :o |

| quote: | I chose the PS3 over the xbox primarily because I don't just game. Blu-ray movies are phenomenal IF you have the TV to match it. Nothing on HD television can match the quality of blu-ray.
I say i probably watch movies more than I play games because of the great picture quality.
Xbox has the better online gaming by far. PSN is far behind but it's nothing to sneeze at plus it's free.
If you're a hardcore gamer than XBOX 360 seems like the way to go.
If you want somethimng more to do than gaming than PS3.
I use my PS3 to:
Watch blu-ray movies
Play games
stream movies, tv shows, and music from my desktop PC to my TV (xbox does this to) I'm not sure though if the xbox has as many decoders as I'm able to watch ripped blu-ray movies. Can someone with an xbox confirm this?
So basically while i may not have the BEST games, at least the PS3 for me is more of a multi-entertainment device. That aspect allows me to use it everyday.
