What mob? Bunch of people on the subway? Or the 4 guys handcuffed, sitting on the floor.

There is no possible way you can justify anything this guy did. One, the suspect was face down on the floor, handcuffed, how much threat can he pose? Two, there were TWO police officers on him and three, even if he was cursing at them in a position he was in, this doesn't justify use of any force, whether lethal or non lethal.

This guy should fry x 3.

lol dude. i said i do not condone that cop's action

even if they are unarmed, the crowd shouting and feeling generally hostile towards, it affects you. you dont know when the crowd will get physically hostile. it's not a good feeling when you feel that you're not in control of the situation, outnumbered by a potentially hostile crowd

sure. you've got a gun. but you're restrained by your rules and it may only take one dude in the crowd to rush you, and the rest of the crowd might follow

sounds like either the cop ed up big time, or he panicked. either way, the cop is going to get hammered big time from what i've seen and read

1. you can't see in the video what happened leading up everything. I can't see 10 cops randomly showing up, stopping a train and arresting 5 guys for absolutely no reason.

2. you obviously didn't watch the other videos showing other angles.. the cops were almost surrounded by thugged out looking dudes who were clearing antagonising them. you can see and hear them taunting the cops.. and lets not forget about the people on the subway that were all yelling at them.

Shooting the guy was defintely not justified and the guy should be punished for it even if it was accidental... but you're pretty stupid and/or irgnorant if you can't see how the cops were in a bad situation.

i dunno dude.

what kind of impression would you have if cops are being chased out by an angry mob?
zoogla
an impression that the city is no longer safe and we need batman?
zoogla
the more i think abt this the more it pisses me off. this was an EXECUTION at POINT BLANK range. the kid had no chance whatsoever. i know there are all kinds of atrocities in the world out there, but i really don't care enough at the end of the day because i don't choose to act on it (i.e. travel and fight there, or even stand up for the cause here) but when this sorta goes down on our home turf, where we believe in the DOMESTIC values and principles, by and large (definitely not the foreign affairs, at least for me), it really makes me mad.

lol. are you a yank fahad? ;)

i'm not excusing the cop's actions.

I am pointing out possible extenuating circumstances that could have affected his judgement.
zoogla
and those extenuating circumstances are weak imo. these guys had to have been trained on how to safely leave a bad scene where they're outnumbered as much as how to fire a stupid gun.

This demonstrates that rent-a-cops should not be allowed to carry guns

Thank you x2. By the way, if you look at the video footage, Oscar Grant (the guy who was killed) was the only one who wasn't handcuffed. On top of that, he put up his hands, indicating that he is willing to cooperate on more than one occasion. He also told the cops not to shoot him with a taser as he has a daughter and he feared for his life.
