"Again, we do not have a dance floor, and that makes a huge difference. It’s more about table service, sitting, etc"

no dance floor with alot of sitting -- sounds like a great club!

A bottle service lounge will never work in that spot. Some couches on the main floor is ok to break things up like he said, but their idea will never work. They need to make it an edm club like it used to be

There's so many effing things wrong in this article, it's pissing me off... These guys are clueless, and Steve Lewis is a quack, and has been the second he proclaimed Mansion the second coming of Christ that NYC needed.

"I think that whole aspect is sadly lacking from clubs here in the US. There’s plenty of clubs full of sweaty kids with their tops off, but I feel that what Ministry can bring to the US and particularly to New York is the whole clubbing experience. The music’s going to be the very best in the world, and the performers are going to be the very best in the world—it’ll be visually as well as musically pleasing, an experience for everybody."

^^And you'll somehow get those kids to keep their shirts off how?... It works one of two ways... You either run a 100-capacity club where "beautiful people" and wannabes can spend big bucks, or you run a 2000-person venue where you need the crack music that can sell to such a space. Andy Caldwell and David Vendetta won't sell out Crobar's space... Jonathan Peters and Victor Calderone will, and it's only a matter of time til they go that route.

"This whole vibe that Ministry is bringing is an adult club experience geared towards a slightly more sophisticated crowd, as opposed to the young ravers who are popping pills. There are different levels and different spaces within the club so everyone can find their own niche. That combined with the fact that we love to have performances, aerialists, and dancers. There are lots of wonderful, weird, and wacky things that go on here that are just unique to this venue—there’s no other venue in the city that can do it, and I think it’s a perfect fit."

^^That's what Mansion was, idiot, not to mention the whole of 14th street and Meatpacking! The fact that he uses the word "ravers" shows how clueless he is to the NY scene, and we're all "popping pills". The people in suits and Fendi are on their share of drugs as well, plus acting just as idiotic and rambunctious. The little 18 year old girls that'll be surrounding them running around is where the club's going to get in trouble with the cops, and bam, you have an eviction notice.

"People thought we weren’t legitimate, but this is moving forward—this isn’t Crobar, this is something new, it’s an ultralounge, and everyone gave us . I think having the world’s best DJs and having performances and arts and shows combined with ultralounge-style environment and service is great."

^^Yeah, it's definitely not Crobar. Crobar had one of the best staffs, door people, visual and sound guys in the biz, not to mention the best DJs in the world.

It's so sad this is reminding me of Exit, and Exit2, etc... Just bring back Crobar, or don't bring in anything.

What a ing blast.... Do they have public relations firms in London, because this guy's interview and how he's describing the club is putting me off more than the talk about Mansion a year ago did. Who woulda thought we'd be rolling our eyes about the idea of MoS coming to New York, but this is just a joke.

It's like that Tresor weekly at Avalon that went *kaput* after 2 months. Or Pacha too... You won't see a Pacha anywhere in the world that's like ours, it's a whole other world. They bent to fit the clientele, and MoS will eventually have to do the same.
